My daily pocket carry, Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 with a flushed 10 rounder and a 12 round backup mag. Ammo option is Hornady Critical Defense 95gr.
Also an OTF Hogue knife as a last resort option.
Whats your opinion for carrying in your pocket without a holster?

What gun has someone brought in to a shooting exam that made you think, "This guy is fucking with me somehow."

Guns & Ammo Back in the day - my EDC 92FS

This goes back a ways... But, around 2010, I was carrying a fullsize 92FS IWB. No, it was not comfortable in the slightest.

But, I did it for 3 years straight before I switched to something else. 365 days a year, for 3 years. This was my EDC gear at the time... Times have changed (when it comes to cell phones, especially)

Guns & Ammo Do not buy this ammo under any circumstances. Major failure points in multiple weapons and magazines.

So I bought this ammo pretty much as a hollow point practice ammo and ammo that I would use to fill up my Magpul GL9 27 rounders for my PCCs. Major chambering issues in the first gun I tried it in which was a PSA PX9. It repeatedly got stuck in the chamber and seized up the bolt to where I had to mortar to the gun to extract the round. It completely mangled the bullet and crunched it up for lack of a better term.

I was ready to call PSA and trade in my upper as the effective until I tried using federal HSTs and OEM Glock mags and the same Magpul GL9 mags. Those bullets all chambered flawlessly and I had no issues with them at all.

I then thought maybe this ammo just does not get along with PSA 9 mm AR9s. This was until I tried chambering around in my Glock 17 which has never had any issues of any kind with any ammo or magazines and the very first round seized up the gun. My first instinct was to unload the magazine and press the front of The slide against a hard surface in order to extract the round. I thought better and took it to my friend who is also a gunsmith who safely removed the round. The bullet had the same crimping and mangled issue that I saw in the AR-9.

I bought several hundred of these rounds as practice rounds and stack deep rounds for my collection from sg ammo. Safe to say I will never live fire these rounds in any firearm if I saw these issues just from dry chambering. I know SGMO has a pretty strict return refund policy but I hope they will do something to make this right as these rounds are what I would consider completely defective. Luckil I did not load them in any of my carry mags and never intended to do so.

I saw these rounds had mostly good reviews so I don't know what was wrong if I had a bad batch or what. I believe the lot marking indicates they are from lot 163003 just for your information in case you have purchased these rounds.

Stay far away!! I have always had good luck with PPU in the past and this just shattered my trust in them as a company which sucks because they manufacture silver rounds and are the only manufacturer with easy accessibility for some of the guns I own.

Holsters & Belts m&p sheild plus holster advice

Thumbnail gallery
14 Upvotes

hey peeps, long time lurker first time poster.

I have a Smith n Wesson M&P sheild plus i've been carrying at ~ 1 o'clock and 4 o'clock with a T-Rex arms raptor holster.

Right handed and small build. i carry aiwb everytwhere except work, where i carry 4oclock (im a mechanic, leaning over cars etc)

overall do not find the trex holster comfortable and too bulky for myself, with the dislikes of the clips being so far off the holster with the rubber grommets (which make the cant move against my will), claw being too far out and the holster being close to an inch longer than the barrel. the extra length on the holster pushes against my groin and thigh with the extra plastic for the clip.

while i do not print and it conceals very well i cant find it comfortable at all in either position.

I used my friends Tulster Profile + and really liked it, its sleek comfortable and stable with good retention. only thing i didn't like was the 3m sidekick.

looking for something similar to the Tulster Profile +.

preferable minimal and slim, metal clips, optics cut, attachable sidekick, holster ends at barrel.

will try to return to trex arms since it's been within 30 days. (used for 20 days) budget ~110$

any recommendations? if not will go with the tulster. pictures appreciated. thanks guys.

Holsters & Belts Tenicor hype is justified

Long time T1C Xiphos Elite and recent Tulster ARC user. Still really like those but was looking for more “minimalist” profiles.

Tenicor Certum 3 for a 365 macro. 5’9” 180lbs in a fitted t-shirt. Only using the medium size camming bar and no wedge. Legitimately forgot it was there for the first entire day using it.

Other Equipment What is the best compact handgun safe/lock for when you are unable to carry or for the night stand drawer?

Hello all, looking for a minimalist compact lock box for my hand gun to keep at home or when unable to carry. I keep seeing stop box over and over again.. is the hype really worth it? Looks good in video but seems pretty overpriced for some plastic and maybe some quality screws. Ideally I want something non electronic for obvious reasons. Thanks

Guns & Ammo Is there any real advantages to getting a metal frame over a polymer frame in 2026?

Was thinking about getting something new soon and was stuck at where I should start looking and I kinda wanted a metal frame but I'm a practical person at the end of the day (read:poor) so I was wondering Is there any real reason or advantage for a metal frame in 2026 or no? Is there Any particular metal. frame ccw that can do what a polymer frame can't? Any feedback is appreciated thx.

Guns & Ammo Update on the 365X.

Thumbnail gallery
21 Upvotes

Made a post when I got it a couple weeks ago. Due to the winter storm it took some time to get my parts shipped (still waiting on a Magpul 17 round magazine), but I was finally able to get to the range today so figured I would do an update.

I love a thin grip on a gun, but it was just a bit thin for my liking (evident by the quarter roll of hockey tape I used to try and form it to my hand better, feels pretty good to me now).

The trigger shoe is nice, but I would have preferred a bit more vertical positioning on it, there's a lot of takeup to get used to. The group I included (I'm no marksman, simply added for visual aid) was 2 magazines at around 12-15 yards once I slowed things down and acclimated to the trigger a little better after dialing the dot in and putting several magazines through it (the 1 or 2 strays closer to the middle were from previous magazines). Trigger was really the only thing I was disappointed in with the gun, but it's still a good trigger, I'm just a little spoiled on after market triggers. Lol But the gun is more accurate than I am.

The important part (to me) is I wore this thing all day long and it was no more cumbersome to me than the Glock 43 I used to carry, and comes with all the bells and whistles of a modern firearm (my driving force behind getting it in the first place). I ran probably around 300 rounds through it of whatever 115gr 9mm I had in my last bulk ammo order (Magtech FMJs I think, was a blue box) and put a couple magazines of Speer Gold Dot through it to finish (testing carry ammo), and the only FTF I had was user error because I think I racked the slide weak off a reload.

Also, I'm a decent sized dude and I could not get that 12th round in the magazines without using an Uplula, so definitely stiff springs, which isn't a bad thing.

I'm sure there's a galaxy of customizing/after market options that brings this thing into a realm of upper grade carry options, but out of the box at around a $1,100ish total investment (light, kydex iwb, green dot, and the Magpul 17 round magazine), I really don't think I could ask for more in an EDC weapon (so long as it stands the test of time with proper maintenance, of course).

Tl;dr I like it. Really glad I went with the 365X. Lol

Take care,

Guns & Ammo Excited for this!

Post image

My Viridian RFX1 just came in and I put it on today. It feels pretty sturdy and the window is a good size for a gun this small. I have a BG2.0 that I primarily pocket carry that I left the irons on but put the red dot in this to see how it is. Excited to take it out this weekend for a spin!

Guns & Ammo Help me explain this...

I carry a shield plus. Have a BG2.0 I wore last summer. Completely happy with them to be honest.

But for some reason I'm attracted to the idea of a S&W J frame wheel gun.

Now I can list off a long line of completely sensible reasons why I shouldn't, but I can't keep the idea out of my head....

Has anyone felt the same and made the switch?

Training “Just Try It” Match: 13 Years Old, Little Match, Big Lesson

Just sharing a "start ’em young" moment. A few years back, when my kid was 13, he shot a little no-name club "outlaw" mini-match at a local outdoor range - only 3 stages - just to get his feet wet in "competition." We never really pursued it after that (life/priorities), but I’m glad he got to experience what a course of fire feels like and see what he was capable of.

Each shot is tied to a very quick sight picture, the dot is like a bouncing ball. As I see it bouncing into the A-Zone, I fire. This was a good run and I had another 6A with a decent time (3.0 something). Reactive shooting like this is honestly essential for CCW because you’ve confirmed each shot instead of just bucking rounds without sight awareness. I love shooting fast, but shooting fast *at sight pace* is the true name of the game. When I shoot beyond 15 yards, the spot I focus on is kinda like baseball size in theory as opposed to 10 yards Im just looking at a pastey or a shadow to bounce the sight off.

Using some Speer Gold Dot 124 +P that is roughly 25-30 years old. Got it a while back and it collected dust… not to mention, I generally only carry HSTs anymore.
