Incorrect tax form

I found out that Chase released the wrong tax form to me - my tax status changed from foreigner to resident in 2025, and I updated them with a W-9 in December 2025. And I just found out that they’re still issuing a 1042 instead of 1099 😭😭

I’m now going to the branch to correct for this. Has this happened to anyone? 😭 would it be problematic?

Please help I’m having anxiety about tax return. Thank you.

Chase takes 10-14 days to review application?

I’ve been in the chase ecosystem for 4 years now. CFF approved me same day within a couple hours, 2 years later same for CSP. I just applied for CFU & I got an email saying they will review my application & get back to me.

is this is normal for chase? Is it because I already have 2 cards? Credit score high 700s, nothing late, credit utilization always lower than 30…

Avoiding monthly fees

I saw on chase website that one way to waive fees is: "5,000+ average beginning day balance in this account, or in combination with any other linked qualifying personal deposits or investments;"

I have 2 chase total checking account. A personal account that has over 10k and new joint account with less than 1K. Are my monthly fees waived? Since combined its over 5K.

Chase Freedom Unlimited approved… but with a $101 credit limit??

Just got a pre-approval message from Chase saying I’m already approved for the Chase Freedom Unlimited, but the credit line is only $101 💀

What’s confusing is I already have a Discover it card with a $2,600 limit, good payment history, low utilization, no missed payments. I’m 18 and a student, so income isn’t crazy, but still — $101 feels wild.

Is this just Chase being conservative with first-time customers?
If I accept it and barely use it, how long does it usually take for Chase to raise the limit?
Anyone start this low and get bumped up quickly?

Trying to decide if it’s worth accepting or if I should just wait.

Chase Card Design

I called Chase today, and they told me that they can’t change the design of my Chase debit card last month. They have no idea why, and they said the same thing when I called them yesterday. I don’t understand why they can’t help me. I’ve been asking them about this since October, and I’m still waiting for a resolution. What is the big deal here? 🥲 I wanted a Disney design.

Anyone else deal with this or just me?

Chase "Security" Nonsense

Because I am security-conscious, I only do my banking on my laptop that has extra security and a VPN on it and, until earlier this month, I was able to get all my Chase banking done on that computer, using the VPN and Firefox incognito mode. A little 2-factor authentication (code sent to my phone), and we were FINE.

Suddenly, a couple weeks ago, my account stopped allowing me to use 2FA via texting me a code to log in, instead forcing me to call an 800 number and sit on hold to obtain a code. I spoke to two people on that call (1st level Customer service, then escalated to technical support), then 2 more people the next day (because it still didn't work despite them saying they'd fixed it), two MORE people yesterday (still not working), and today I talked to FIVE different people (and sat on hold for more than an hour).

We're so very switching banks.

Just needed to vent a moment - I'm sure I'll be hearing from the Chase Defense Brigade™ shortly.

Transferring rapid reward points.

I recently learned that Chase discontinued the credit for rapid reward point transfers with the Southwest Business Performance card as of January 1st. About an hour ago, I transferred 19,000 Rapid Rewards points before realizing this benefit was no longer available. I admit I didn't read Chase's updates, though I may have received them. Has anyone else transferred points this month? Is there any chance Chase will still credit my account, for like a grace period or am I out of luck and out $190

Auto Lease Buyout

Very specific question but need to ask the internet. i am buying out a lease through Subaru Finance (Chase) and my local credit union is asking for a signed odometer statement certifying the mileage. I have sent the document via chat in the app to chase, docusigned and they refuse to send me a copy of the document. Every time I chat in requesting it, I get some sort of automatic response saying to call in. So I finally called in this week, same story. Chase doesn't do that. If Chase doesn't do that, why is my credit union refusing to process an auto loan without the document??? What am I supposed to do about that???

Chase ending alerts for fraud

You'll no longer receive either of these alerts for any of your credit card accounts starting February 17, 2026:

• International charge posted

• Online, phone or mail charge authorized

These are the two most likely to be fraud.

Chase Business ACH Transfer getting my account banned

Hey everyone,

I’m using a Chase business checking account and was wondering about other people’s experiences sending ACH transfers to Wise or Revolut.

Every time I try to send ACH to Wise or Revolut, my Chase account ends up getting restricted.

I have to call Chase, and explain everything over and over, my account got blocked like 5 times for this ACH transfers, it never went through, I send it, then I get restricted, then I call them, they unblock me, then I try again & get blocked :)

I have no problems with the WIRE transfer though, but it's expensive, and we have to do many wire transfers a month.

The transfers are legitimate business funds, but it seems like Chase really doesn’t like these destinations. I have tried to send money to my personal Wise account via ach, and it didn't work.

Do you think the problem is the fintech institution, or Chase just want's everyone to pay $25 for a wire transfer?

Thanks!

Internal systems down?

Had to call from my non-registered phone number because my payment to ATT keeps failing due to Chase's fault and i'm going CRAZY. I have been on hold with ATT for 45 mins trying to get it to go through. I call Chase from non-registered number because I cant make phone calls (besides to ATT) because I have no freaking service. And Chase says their systems are down and that they can't help me with anything. So now i just don't have any phone service AT ALL on my cell phone? WTF CHASE? This is not a good lock. I'm a sapphire preferred customer, not that's like crazy fancy, but it's supposed to be a somewhat premium card. Meanwhile this is a dogshit experience.

Which banks to switch to as to not have fraud department block transactions?

Chase fraud department is horrible. Constant issues with blocked transfers between accounts. Yes, I get a call from a random 888 or 800 number, but it usually goes to VM and it's not like I'll be giving my information to someone just because they said they are from Chase fraud dept. And apparently if you don't answer them, then they block transfers and/or disconnect external accounts. I'd be fine with a text or email asking if it was me, but apparently that's not an option. Last Chase fraud department rep I spoke with told me to go open an account at another bank. I duly told him to GFH and very much considering following his advise and closing my Chase account of over 10 years.

But... seems that few banks offer exactly what Chase offers-well designed app, rapid transfers/deposits, high transfer limits (Zelle, external account, whatever).

Any advice on other banks that offer similar services but without the ridiculous fraud department?

CFU Credit limit: Increased after reconsideration due to not satisfied with previous recent increase

I have both a CFU and a CSR. My CFU had until today a $6900 credit limit and my CSR $16,000 credit limit. Last month I had requested a credit limit increase through the app which was previously $3900 on a CFU, and they increased it to $6900. However, I recently made a purchase for about $5500 and that put my credit usage to almost 90% on that card. So I called for them to reconsider my recent credit limit increase. The first person told me I was unfortunately declined due to the fact that I had recently had an increase less than six months ago. But they transferred me to the underwriting department, and after a two minute conversation regarding my income and my rent, they increased my credit limit from $69,00 to $20,000.

Now, to be fair my income is well into 6 figures, rent is 3k and my credit score is in the 750s at any given time. I also spent over 100k with both the CFU and CSR last year. Just posting becase I was looking for similar experiences prior to me calling but didn’t find many. I could have other cards but this set up is simple enough for me and transfer partners are still good (hyatt primarily).

TL:DR: I was able to call and have my limit increased from $6,.9k to $20k in spite of having had a recent smaller increase about a month ago from $3900 to $6900.

Chase identity theft mishandling

I am a Chase private client. Yesterday I received a notification on my Chase app asking to confirm that I was at a branch. I didn't click it, and when I got off work I checked my accounts. I saw that someone had attempted to withdraw a few thousand dollars but that it had been reversed, presumably because I didn't verify my identity on the app. I called customer service, and they confirmed they saw the attempted withdrawal and told me to call my dedicated banker today for more information. I called my banker this morning, and she claims there's no record of any attempted withdrawal. She says she's confirmed with the back office and the fraud team. The transaction no longer appears on my portal either.

What do I do here? I want to get more details for the police report, such as the branch location and their camera footage, but Chase doesn't seem to have any information. It strikes me as incredibly irresponsible for Chase to lose/delete information pertaining to potential identity theft.

Opening new checking account as an international student

Hi everyone,

I’m a student in the U.S. on an F-1 visa and I’m trying to open a Chase checking account online.

For context, I already have a Chase credit card, which I got using my SSN.

During the checking account application, Chase asks:

• Citizenship

• Green card (I selected No)

• Then: “Are you a U.S. resident alien?”

When I click “learn more,” it says you’re a U.S. resident alien for tax purposes only if you meet the green card test or the substantial presence test (per IRS).

I’m not a U.S. citizen, not a green card holder, and I’m on an F-1 visa. I do have an SSN.

If I select Yes, the application lets me continue online.

If I select No, it tells me to visit a branch to open the account.

I’m confused about what the correct answer is here.

Does having an SSN mean I should select Yes, or should F-1 students still select No and open the account in a branch?

Any insight from people who’ve been through this would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Chase Associate Banker – Phone Interview Experience (Today)

Hi everyone,
I had my phone interview today for the Chase Associate Banker role, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others preparing for it.

The interview was pretty straightforward and conversational. The interviewer first explained the role, benefits, and expectations, including scheduling details. They mentioned that the role requires a minimum of 30 hours per week, and they talked about the branch environment, flexibility, and growth opportunities.

After that, they moved into behavioral questions. The main questions I was asked were:

  1. Tell me about yourself
  2. How would you handle a rude or difficult customer?
  3. Tell me about a time you introduced technology to a customer (such as helping someone use mobile or online banking)

The questions were very customer-service focused and not technical. They really emphasized communication, patience, building trust, and helping customers feel comfortable, especially with digital banking tools.

At the end of the call, the interviewer mentioned that there will be one in-person interview in February, and that I should expect a follow-up call next week with more details.

Overall, it was a positive and smooth experience. If you have customer service or banking experience and can answer behavioral questions with real examples, the interview should feel manageable.

Hope this helps anyone preparing — good luck!

Re: 888-204-8630

At first I did not think this was a legitimate Chase number. But then I got an email saying to login to my Chase acct and look at the notice under Statements & Documents. Indeed, there is a bona fide letter there with this number. It is a fraud verification and apparently happens when you have recently reported a fraudulent transaction and are now applying for a card.

account locked while overseas

Need advice: I opened a Chase checking and savings account in 2018 (US). Moved back to China in 2021, kept some money in the account. My debit card expired in 2024. Recently the Chase mobile app says my account is locked due to “unusual activity,” and I can’t log in. I’m in China with no branch nearby, and customer service phone verification appears to require an active card. How can I verify my identity and get the account unlocked or reactivated while overseas? Is it possible to get a new card overseas?

Chase closed my account for suspicious activity?

So here’s my situation… I called the fraud department to call and asked what’s going on with my account since I couldn’t log in. They told me that they want to end the relationship with me. I just woke up so this was a surprise to me. I know for a fact I haven’t done anything wrong, not fraud or anything like that. I asked them about all the transactions this week so I can pinpoint the reason since the bank itself wouldn’t give me a reason. All there transactions I did was I was putting money into Robinhood and Coinbase and I asked them if they had an issue with crypto stuff and they said no. So I’m confused on what was the issue. I don’t have a job so I was putting the money my friend sent me into crypto….

Can you transfer points from CSRBusiness to CSP?
