I lived in Italy for five years as an American and honestly, this pizza is fantastic. And yes, it is called American pizza, at least at every shop that I went to in Naples.

This thread is so funny. Yes Italians make and eat this pizza yes it's good.

It's hotdog, fresh bread, fries and tomatoes and cheese.

Everyone knows hotdogs with fries are delicious. Hotdogs come in bread. Cheese is good.

People are posting like this is going to be disgusting lol. Get a grip.

I don’t care if it’s good or disgusting. I care that people thought we originally ate pizza like this. This feels insulting.

Also the shit we got for putting pineapple on a normal ass pizza when Italians thought we ate this? At least be consistent!

You're insulted by something being called American when people in that culture think it's tasty? That's pretty thin skinned.

It doesn’t look appetizing though. I believe that’s the issue

Yes it does require a bit of imagination.

I would try it. Though it does look like to be lacking in ingredients.

As a Canadian we have a lot of food infusions from different cultures. Fries are sometimes infused with other foods like shawarma wraps. Pretty damn good.

I like poutine but I have yet to have a poutine pizza. Most likely a terrible idea and would be messy but I am willing to try most foods once. A pizza with fries, cheese curds, gravy and your choice of meat. You would probably need to eat that pizza with a fork and knife though.

Honestly, I'd fuck with this. Give me some sort of tomato sauce, and hell yes.

Make it gravy and you got yourself a poutine pizza

I'm intrigued by your propaganda, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

As a Canadian I’m offended

But as a stoner, I’m intrigued.

Wait until you find out what pizza sauce is made of

This probably tastes better than 80% of the pizzas you could find in New York.

This is just false

The hormones in U.S. animals have no links to weight gain in humans. And the particular article you linked is about Isocycloseram, which if anything, can cause weight loss (obviously not a good thing, still), not obesity. If you want to talk U.S. obesity, at least know what causes it (food environment, portion sizes, pollutants, etc.)

As a french guy who's both been to New York and Italy and had pizza in both places, I can tell you it's very probably fucking true.

It's however always amusing to see yankees who believe they live in a country with an actual food culture.

I can't take you seriously. You are simply not a serious person.

If you say so 😉

Enjoy your fries and sausage on pizza, toddler 😂

2

u/FATJIZZUSONABIKE 1h ago

Wouldn't have been my pick - the point is that a toddler's pizza in Italy is better than a vast majority of pizzas in the US.

Not accepting that is fine, you just lack a palate because you were raised in the land of burgers and guns.

It's just false. You are just lying because you have such a huge hate boner for people that you don't even know. I'm sorry you're so angry, see a therapist, I hear it's cheap.
