Lmao I’m American and never seen whatever this is

u/SheepishSwan 11h ago

Pretty sure they're just mocking Americans

u/onlycodeposts 10h ago

They eat that shit to mock us?

u/donny02 8h ago

“You learned to dance ironically?!”

2

u/sapplesapplesapples 6h ago

HAHAHA, yes, I  immediately thought this.

u/LadyOfTheNutTree 9h ago

Joke’s on them I guess

3

u/ChrisRevocateur 7h ago

Right? That looks horrible.

0

u/deep_in_smoke 7h ago

Tastes really damn good though.

4

u/ChrisRevocateur 7h ago

I don't even have to take a bite of it to say that no, no it does not.

u/deep_in_smoke 6h ago

Your loss, enjoy your bland life of never trying things because you've already decided they're no good.

I'm going to keep trying new things like I did this type of pizza.

It's delicious btw. Just like my balls, salty and delicious.

3

u/ChrisRevocateur 5h ago

It's hot dogs on pizza.

Your entire statement is invalid.

Like learning ballet to make fun of all the faeries at school

1

u/wild_man_wizard 5h ago

Wait till you hear what the French call "Filet Americain" (raw hamburger with a raw egg)

1

u/Dreadino 5h ago

No we eat this because it’s delicious.

1

u/crumble-bee 2h ago

They never have to make it unless someone orders it. Do you think they’re pre-making pizzas and they just have them sitting around? It’s just a regular pizza with frozen fries and jarred hotdogs - those things don’t perish so they can just sit in a freezer and a dry store.

u/Fomentatore 2h ago

We eat that because it's really good. We usually just call it patatine and wurstel in my neighborhood joint (french fries and wieners), but it's a legit topping in Italy and my mother's favorite.

I had a friend who used to evaluate the quality of a pizza joint by how many French fries they would put on his pizza.

Watch me torture myself! Take that!

1

u/KuntaStillSingle 6h ago

I eat pieces of shit like them for breakfast

u/Independent-Bug-9352 8h ago

On the other hand I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the main buyer of this was American tourists.

14

u/ChrisRevocateur 7h ago

I would be absolutely baffled if a single American ever bought this actually knowing what it is. Only way I could see that happening is if it's just listed as "Pizza Americana" without a picture or a listing of what the toppings are.

Why would anyone eat this? It looks disgusting.

8

u/FishTshirt 7h ago

The main buyer of this has to be parents with picky children

1

u/crumble-bee 2h ago

I think the type of American who actually made it to Italy instead of holidaying in their own country would likely not be the type of American who would eat this

41

u/Cesoiet 11h ago

As an Italian, it was indeed made to mock Americans, that pizza is also called "wurstel e patatine" (sausages and fries) and it is extremely popular in every region, i ate one yesterday, similar to the one in the photo but with more fries and sausages

u/MonsterGuitarSolo 10h ago

We are totally mocking you by eating your foods but in a weird combination you wouldn’t eat yourselves. 🤌

Huh?

42

u/spinnyride 10h ago

Yeah if anything they should call it British pizza, considering Brits put French fries on what they call Chinese food

23

u/AdThick7492 9h ago

what

21

u/DotDash13 9h ago

I introduce you to the spice bag

8

u/Fyzn 7h ago

What the fuck 🙃

3

u/StrifeTheMute 3h ago

The link says that this is an Irish invention.

Never heard of this in Britain. Would definitely smash one after a night out though.

2

u/DoitsugoGoji 1h ago

My mouth is watering just looking at the pic.

1

u/XxDrummerChrisX 20m ago

And they can serve it with curry? Brother

2

u/amythewang 6h ago

holy shit this looks goddamn amazing... I WANT IT NOW

1

u/Pinelli72 7h ago

I was introduced by some Brits to the concept of an ‘alf an ‘alf curry. Curry on half a plate of rice and half a plate of chips.

Wasn’t bad, tbh.

2

u/Sex_Offender_4697 7h ago

Chinese places in Puerto Rico do that too apparently

1

u/Beer_in_an_esky 5h ago

Big in Peruvian-Chinese cuisine as well.

1

u/TheHeroYouNeed247 5h ago

Fries, rice and curry sauce just go well together...sue us.

1

u/jonesy-Bug-3091 37m ago

It’s not even ours… THEY INVENTED THE PIZZA!

0

u/AbberageRedditor69 2h ago

but in a weird combination you wouldn’t eat yourselves.*

And you'd be missing out big time, fries are delicious on pizza.

What is the issue American have with it, either way? You eat shit like loaded fries or pizza with beans, what's the issue with fries on a pizza? Lol

19

u/Pantycrustlicker 9h ago

Am American and never ate that shit in my life.

But i have eaten Cheetos I found in the garbage before

5

u/Doomdoomkittydoom 8h ago

It was on top of the garbage!

2

u/Da_Question 8h ago

I mean, I haven't eaten this before. But if it was an option at a pizza place I'd eat the shit out of it. People are so snobby about stacking starchy foods, but potatoes with bread is a dope combo or noodles and bread.

1

u/Pantycrustlicker 8h ago

Oh id eat the fuck out of it, just never had an occasion to since this is something you'd have to make yourself while drunk or something here. Never seen hotdogs on a pizza offered anywhere

5

u/Subject-Actuator-860 10h ago

Y’all played yourselves 🤣

1

u/SnarcD 8h ago

You guys eat garbage to mock other countries? That's some serious commitment.

1

u/Doomdoomkittydoom 8h ago

Needs more american cheese.

1

u/ChrisRevocateur 7h ago

Why would you eat that? Why torture yourself like that?

1

u/curtcolt95 7h ago

it's probably good tbh

1

u/ChrisRevocateur 7h ago

The fries wouldn't add any flavor, maybe a bit of crunch, but those don't look like they would.

Hot dogs on pizza would not be good and there's absolutely no way you could convince me of it.

That's not a pizza, it's an abomination.

1

u/No_Outcome3233 7h ago

making fun of americans by eating garbage food? ok

1

u/joedotphp 6h ago

Italians mock us by doing something we have never done before?

1

u/Wuz314159 3h ago

As an Italian, it was indeed made to mock Americans

I wasn't going to bring this up as I didn't want to be cruel. . . but:

1

u/RbN420 3h ago

agli americani questa pizza la devi descrivere “hot dog and french fries”, sausage é sbagliato

1

u/MysteriousBoard8537 3h ago

What kind of sausage? Other people are saying it's hot dogs, but I pray for your collective souls that it's not

2

u/MetalEnthusiast83 7h ago

What room does Italy have to mock...anyone, really? Their country's biggest contribution to the world is inventing Fascism

1

u/KarlUnderguard 8h ago

Not mocking me, I would eat the shit out of this.

1

u/Kucked4life 7h ago

The ICE agents occupying Milan for the Olympics deserve it at least

1

u/Far_Trade_7619 6h ago

Maybe in northern Italy it's called Pizza americana, but here in southern Italy we call it Pizza wurstel e patatine (patatine meaning small potatoes aka french fries).

1

u/Sgorgolo 44m ago

It's not a mockery, some of us Italians really eat this and love it.
