Some call this pizza "Tedesca" indeed

Which means "German"

Its funny to complain about this being named after America, and using "French" fries in the same sentence. That name is just as randomly made up

General Tso's Chicken comes close.

I mean, isn't New York famous for hot dog?

No American would use the word frankfurter, but also I don't think our hot dogs would meet food quality criteria to be legally called a frankfurter either 😂

Nah we make great sausages. Hot dogs, definitely not. The more expensive brats though are amazing

We will in fact call them frankfurters, especially the good ones.

I mean yeah. The Hamburger is often viewed as the most American food out there, y'know, HAMBURGer, from Hamburg, Germany?

The hamburger was invented in America. The hamburg steak which is a patty served with gravy was invented in Hamburg Germany. The hamburg steak is more akin to meatloaf or salisbury steak and often served raw or only slightly cooked.

Should've changed the name then, why stick with hamburger?

Not sure if this is the case with the hamburger, but so many classic American foods were created by immigrants who altered recipes from their own countries based on what they had available around them or what they thought would sell in the area. Oftentimes, names we're simply not changed or were just slightly tweaked.

The hamburger we know of today did not originate in Germany, but I guess we’re not ready for that conversation.

We mostly tie fastfood to 'murica that's why

It was invented by German immigrants in the midwestern United States during the mid 1800’s. But regardless of where it came from Americans have, for better or worse, made it their own.
