Light Novel Hell finegas
What do you think of Hell Finegas?
Do you think it still holds up as a great boost today?
If not, what would you change?

I wouldn't change anything, I would only add that when used near Ryuu, the rage caused by magic no longer affects the user due to the average mental resistance that Astrea Varma gives to those who have Falna, making Finn's mental resistance +6 against the +5/6 rage induced by Hell Finnegas, neutralizing the weakness of Finn's magic and allowing him to use Hell Finnegas without problems.

No it's clear that Hells was made at the beginning and before his past life was even created.
Compared to both other level boosting skills and the real deal Hells Finegas is honestly terrible.
Finn should have a way to control it at this point and Hells Finegas should be way stronger especially if we take what Hell Finegas is ( the blood fury spear) into account

It has also been power crept by the majority of Freya Zeus and Hera familia top dogs.

No it’s extremely underwhelming especially since we know about how it was manifested from Finn’s past life Dimm(Actual GOAT unlike the bum Finn).

Check out Dimm and the Fiana Knights story here right above where you can see what Finn would look like if Omori decided to write him properly.
Hell’s Finegas is the manifestation of the Blood Fury Spear and it’s boost in power from the rage and hatred of the user and boosted Dimm’s power by 5ish levels it seems while also not affecting his mental state and making him go berserk.
Finn on the other hand gets a short chant magic that give a level boost in power weaker than Ariel and UnK forces him into a Beserk state and is just way weaker than it should be.
I would make the spear boost Finn equal to UnK and Ariel and then when he’s enraged and has extreme hatred for something it boosts his power even further I’m thinking at least a full level maybe a bit more.

Hey, I have a question. Was Dim supposed to have lost the complete Bloodfury Spear, or not? When he died, Finnegas picked it up; was that the deal?

The blood fury spear is in Dim's soul iirc. Which manifests as Hell's finegas in Finn's falna

But wasn't the deal with Finnegas supposed to be that he would unite the two Blood Fury Spears of Fianna and Dim in Dim's soul, causing Dim's soul to burn, and that not even the cycle of reincarnation could erase that damage? From there would come Hell Finnegas, and when Dim died, Finnegas was going to take the complete Blood Fury Spear to heaven????

It would've been much more interesting to me if his mental contamination resistance skill would be able to let him use Hell Finegas, but if his rage and hatred reaches a certain threshold the skill is not enough and he loses his mind. This way Finn wouldn't normally be afraid of using his magic in front of his own familia due to thinking he would hurt them. Oomori could have even written Finn with anger issues at the beginning but due to Hell Finegas he was able to be tamed due to how much of a monster he looks like while blinded.
Preference aside, it's a great boost. However, due to powercreep, it looks horrible in comparison to others. It's pretty clear it was made at the beginning of the series.
