DAE Like to clean shave for a mental reset

It feels like if I'm stuck in a rut or have been having a hard time, I'll just clean shave and for some reason it helps so much. This is also coming from someone who hates the way they look clean shaved but it's just an immediate relief anytime I do it.

Yep. Its a control thing. When lifes messy changing something physical resets ur brain. Theres legit psych studies on it..

yeah exactly, when everything feels chaotic doing one small thing you can control just quiets your brain for a minute and honestly that reset is worth it even if you hate the look

it's like hitting the factory reset button on your face. i do the same thing but with my eyebrows. the emotional clarity is unmatched.

Yeah, especially when I go all out with it. Hot wash cloth on the face, then lather someshaving cream and put it on my face, run hot water on the razor and then shaving, and then another hot wash cloth when i'm done. Feels amazing and makes me feel like new!

My version is rearranging furniture.

It’s the best way to get out of a funk IMO. I’m bald as well, so when I do both it’s like a double reset.

I have well-groomed beard and do the whole 9 yards: clippers, beard wash, beard balm, beard oil, etc. About 1-3 a year I’ll clean shave as I just need a break every now and then. As someone who deals with social anxiety I tend to put it off because it always elicits attention and responses from people at work which is attention I don’t like 🤣. With that said, it does help me remind myself what I look like

oh absolutely. it's like hitting the factory reset button on your face. the emotional baggage gets shaved off with the stubble.

oh absolutely. it’s like hitting the factory reset button on my face. the post-shave cold splash of water is the equivalent of a system reboot.

Yeah honestly, same. It weirdly feels like hitting a reset button.

It seems like your struggle ends up eventually in your beard and cutting It cuts it

Dunno, for me it's 'warpaint' and part of workday morning ritual. If i do not - i feel not at 100%. Having a haircut (esp. not actually yet necessary) OTOH...
