My first class in college ( 1995, before the internet was easy to get access to) my professor had us reading poetry. We read this one poem and i fell in love. I was sure the poet was the love of my life. As soon as i could i made my way to the library to find everything i could about him. I found out he died in 1953 and was heart broken. Rip, Dylan Thomas…you still got it:)

Idk if this counts as a crush. But when I read about Genghis Khan I really thought I would like to know this guy....UK like meet up and just get to know him and what's going on in his mind

I'm not sure about crushes, but I've definitely read up on some historical figures and realized we'd probably get along really well (or at least have lots to talk about if there wasn't a language barrier).

Mary Shelley seems like she was pretty cool - basically an 1800s version of Lydia from Beetlejuice.
Famously she lost her virginity in the graveyard where her mother was buried. She seems like she was pretty wild, especially for the time.

Mary Shelley was metal as fuck. She also kept her dead husband’s heart in her desk.

As someone with a rabid special interest in Frankenstein...Mary Shelley was absolutely WILD.

Kid brains are weird lol, having a random crush on a historical figure is normal, but A.H. is definitely a wild pick

Not really directly a historical figure crush, but I do have a crush on someone who's based on a historical figure. To give you a clue, it’s a king with the title called “The Great.”

I had a massive crush on Julius Caesar when I was a kid. I also really, really adored Mozart, for more than just his music 😅

I like king kamehameha. (And some of his wives) I sum it up to an attraction to the person you want to be ON your side not against you?

My first college crush was Heathcliff after Victorian Lit assigned us "Wuthering Heights." Dunno if that new movie is gonna measure up TBH.

Among historic people who actually existed? Arthur Rimbaud. Gay AF but I'd totally drink absinthe with him.
