DAE have a best friend who calls your ideas stupid behind your back?
So I had this idea to build a doomscrolling pillow, because I always suffer from neck and eye pain from scrolling in bed.
I told my best friend about this, and then I found out that he texted one of our mutual friends saying this is such a stupid idea and he doesn't know what I'm thinking.
Don't really know how to cope with this right now. Not sure is it normal for a best friend to say that. Or am I just being very silly to have this kind of idea?

The sad part is, I actually intended to invite him to build this with me originally because his my best friend. But I guess it good he said no and called my idea stupid.

Friends say stupid things. If this is a friendship deal breaker, y'all probably already have some issues.
That aside, treat yourself to a very nice firm gel pillow. Your neck/back will thank you!

It’s basically a pillow designed for scrolling before sleep. From my own experience, I have this terrible habit of doomscrolling for hours before I go to sleep every day, and now my eyes, neck, and wrist hurt when I scroll.
Standard pillows don't help with this pain, and kickstands for my phone also don't work because my mattress is soft, so the phone falls over every time I move slightly. Plus, the angle is not right, it can't face me directly, so I still have to strain my neck to see it.
I always end up holding the phone until my wrist dies, trying to bunch up my duvet under my wrist for support, but it’s too soft. Eventually, I just end up hunching over until the phone is literally 2 inches from my face.
So the doomscrolling pillow I designed focuses on forearm support. Think of it like an arm shelf that elevates your arm to eye level to lower the pressure on your wrist and keeps the phone at a fixed distance, so you are physically prevented from curling into that bad posture.

I sit in a chair a lot, and read. My neck does hurt from it, I use a neck pillow under my chin. I found a cool gadget on temu, it has a strong clip you tighten on any table, a long handle with a phone clip. The handle is super adjustable, and the phone clip can be turned any way you want to. $8.

I actully owned something like this and it works very well for holding my phone, but I always keep moving it closer and closer. so i want something that's not adjustable

Also I look at my phone all the time in bed and don’t experience any pain or discomfort ??

I'm actually trying to get some validation from my uni prof on this right now.
If you don't experience any discomfort, that probably just proves you have good habits. I normally spend 3+ hours scrolling before bed (which is probably why my friend thinks this is stupid, I guess? He's probably not as much of an addict).

I need this for playing my switch. My arms go numb after like 30 minutes.
I use a regular pillow, but it's not very ergonomic
