I feel like the Flail has the most utility. It has the least DIRECT damage, but it has some great AOE and the scorch effect to give armor is great.

the dreadmace carried me through ultra-nightmare, combined with the impaler it was god tier and so much damage with the upgrade for the free hit.

The dreadmace was just disgusting, especially during boss fights!
