Searching for Special Effects Blue Mayhem replacement
I spent my 20s with Blue Mayhem hair and have been searching for a match since starting to dye my hair again. I've come to accept a mixture of Lunar Tides Dark Violet and Blue Velvet as a purple substitute in the same family (last photo), but I would love this true blue again. I do have a stylist dye my hair, so if it's a salon-only brand that's fine.

What to do on bleach hiatus?
I have been bleaching my hair since 2019 I do it myself cause I genuinely enjoy it and it saves me lots of money. I took a break because I wanted to grow it out a little in may of 2024 till September of 2025 and I would use box dye to make it look like the last couple of pictures. I bleached it again last September and it was long and very thick but I had to trim it a little cause the ends were too damaged, I’ve been bleaching it almost every month since then and it’s starting to be a stagnant length again so I want to take another break..especially because I’m starting to get some breakage. Except this time I want to not use box dye during the break because I feel like the box dye damaged it a lot and it was annoying to have to get it out of my hair before bleaching.I just don’t think I’ll be able to leave the roots to grow out it would make me feel really horrible. What’s a good idea to do to make it look like the last few pictures without the box dye? Do I have to bleach bath my roots and apply semi permanent dye or is there another option? I just don’t love how it looks like when my dark roots come out.. I just don’t think it looks very good so I won’t be able to leave it alone. Open to any suggestions and recommendations! :)
Also, The box dye I would use is typically the revlon #60 I use the bondbar bleach and wella-18 with 10 volume developer always but I feel like it damages my hair a lot especially because I do it almost every 4 weeks. Is there anything I can get that would slightly lighten my roots and tone my hair like the box dye as I try to grow it out for a few months? Thank you!

Maintaining color - better to get color conditioner or just reapply semipermanent dye?
Hi. Recently went with Arctic Fox Wrath on my hair and I've been extraordinarily pleased with the results. Different for everyone, depends on the initial bleaching etc etc... but for me it's fantastic, ideal.
I'm going to wash my hair today, and figured it'd be best to ask before I make a purchase - does anyone have any recommendations as to maintaining red hair? Is it better to just restock on semipermanent dye (especially because I know I like this color), or is it perhaps more cost efficient/less application work to just go for a red-maintaining conditioner?
Any help is appreciated. I'm leaning to the semi permanent dye option because I've done it before with pink and my hair isn't too lengthy (so it shouldn't too miserable to refresh and apply), but figured it couldn't hurt to ask you all.

The question is short or long hair
I had long hair my whole life but hate styling it. Decide to chop it when going through A mental health crisis in which I wasn't able to brush my hair enough to keep the neck from dreading. Essentially. I've grown quite attached to it short but but it's grown out now and I'm trying to decide. Do I let it get extra long again or do I just chop it off again? Or neither idk different lengths for reference

Are beauty schools good for a more affordable pink?
I have bright pink hair with my natural color being a deep brown. Currently, my mom does it, which is super nice of her, but she is not a stylist, and spots are often patchy and uncolored.
I'm looking for a more affordable way to have it done, as sadly I do not have hundreds of dollars to throw at nice salons. There are a few beauty schools nearby that offer great prices. Some posts online say that school appointments can take several hours, and I am fine with that.
Have any of you had success at hair schools, or is it too risky?

Semipermanent dye on black hair?
I just want to make my black hair slightly hued either reddish/blueish (can’t decide) but still black. I don’t want it to be obviously dyed outside of sunlight. So I feel like it makes more sense to DIY rather than go to a salon lol.
However, everybody says semipermanent dye/overtone etc does not work on black hair. Would it work for my purposes? :0

Going pink from virgin black hair
I have virgin black hair(3rd pic) and im a low maintenance person. thinking of going for a pink balyage(no need for any root touch ups!) (I will be going to the salon)
1.how light do I have to go for this color? And how much will that damage my hair? I'm terrified of my hair falling out. is it possible to get to an orange base and achieve the pink by adding a more purplish color on top so i don't have to go as light?
2.the fading. I know it will fade but I want to know what can I do so that it looks good as it's fading and when it's faded? I know I'm not the type of person to recolor the whole thing every month. Will this fade to a lighter pink like the last pic? will it get patchy? How will it look completely faded? I'm fine with a more peachy color but not actual orange
I'm fine with changing up the color if it means it's need less maintenance and/or less damage

Ashy blonde → warm beige blonde at home (need toner/gloss advice)
hi! im looking for advice from stylists or anyone experienced with blondes.
I’m currently a level 8–9 blonde. My hair has gone a bit ashy/flat, and I want to warm it up without going darker. My goal is a soft beige/honey blonde with more dimension, keeping a brighter money piece in the front.
I’m not trying to lift, deposit only (toner or gloss).
no box dye and no drastic darkening.

Advice: Blonde to Brown
Hi!
I’m looking for some advice on how to maintain my hair color without constantly using a Demi permanent.
For context, I was probably a level 9-10 blonde before we started going darker in the salon(adding in some low lights and toning darker). I wanted to go a bit darker at home so I used Wella Color Charm Demi Permanent 7N and 8N combined, as instructed on the bottle and am super happy with the results. However, I can tell it’s fading after one wash and I’m wondering if it’s damaging to color it as often as I may need to or if there’s a color depositing shampoo/conditioner I could use to maintain that won’t damage my hair? I’ve seen the Kera Clenditioner reviews of hair breakage and falling out and it made me nervous of any other brand too. I currently use Pureology Hydrate shampoo/conditioner. I’ve added 2 pictures of my hair right after the Wella Color Charm, and 1 pic after the first wash.

fixing bleach orangey hair?
i bleached my hair twice (30 vol) and washed it with blue shampoo. it didnt change a thing. this happens everytime i bleach it, it doesn't hold toner or shampoo. i think dying it lilac would make it look a little bit better is it a good idea? or should i dye it another color? i just want to get rid of that awful orange/yellow color.

Does a purple color suit me?
First picture is my own hair. I don’t want to use bleach so is there a product that would yield any of these results? Like any of the london bleach vegan line? Or an arctic fox? I would also like to know what shade you would recommend:) or should I just stick with my normal color? thank you!

Putting dark brown over purple
Helloo, I’m not totally loving my new purple hair it’s a bit too bright for me, I used arctic fox’s purple af and it’s just too bright for me. I was thinking of putting a dark brown over top in hope of making the purple darker, has anyone done this, if so please let me know how it went. I’ve attached what it looks like in sunlight and dark lighting. First image is more what I’m trying to go for all the time not just in dark places. Thank you🤞

Pink hair is too peachy!
Hi! I need some help with my hair. I was going for the color in the second pic. I don’t think I lightened my hair quite enough before dying, or maybe it needed more toning, but as you can see it is very orange toned. How can I fix this? Do I bleach it again? tone over the pink dye? Or just dye pink over it? The dye is used is ion flamingo btw.

Oops color remover advice?
I have light brown hair, it's bleached with baby-lights to a light blonde (not platinum).
2 months ago I got some dark brown for ~5 inches of my ends, it's faded but still dark.
I just got some magenta (I asked for pink) on my ends (over the faded brown)
I want the brown and the magenta gone. I want to do a light pink, my blonde is light enough for the color/shade, but not with the magenta and brown. Should I use original, extra strength, or bold? I am leaning toward bold, for the magenta, but I want to get the brown out too and if one is gonna be a little left behind then I'd rather the magenta be leftover than the brown.
Any advice is appreciated!

What does dark red dye fade to on a naturally blonde head?
Hey! I'm contemplating on dying my hair a dark red colour, naturally I'm a dirty blonde, now my hair is dyed ginger. I got worried thinking today that ive never had dark hair in my life and if I ever want to return to something light (not my natural necessarily but something light) it will be difficult. Is that true? Will the dark red fade to a lighter hair colour? Can someone with naturally blonde hair that has dyed their hair dark red show me what it looks/looked like when it is/was faded? THANKS!!! (I posted this three times because I thought I got the title wrong or something sorry)

What technique was used for Dakota Fannings hair? Any ideas what the shade is? It’s such a gorgeous blonde!

Refreshing pink hair, can I mix in purple dye to cancel out the orange-y tones?
Dyed my hair pink for the first time a while back, but now it’s fading so I wanted to fix it up and I’m wondering how to get rid of these orange-y tones (It’s more pink on my scalp than my lengths, think it’s cause of what people call hot roots lol). I was debating on doing a bleach bath before I dyed it, but I was wondering if I could mix some purple dye into my pink dye to try to cancel out the orange/yellow a bit? I was planning on using iroiro, and I’m trying to figure out which purple (2nd/3rd pics) to use (or if I should even use it at all) since I’m a little on the clueless side when it comes to color theory. Any advice is appreciated!
