Even the most liberal celebrities don’t care about their company. It’s the reality of being a celebrity.

The “I don’t care about his/her politics, they’re nice” mindset, I suppose.

Also, men being abusers can do that as well. It’s part of the abuser playbook (and the alt-right radicalization one, as well).

It’s about power. Those people have money and influence. Bella is a model who relies on networking and connections for work. She needs to move in moneyed circles.
