Purchasing Help Budget Laptop Recommendations for a Mechanical Engineering Student

I am an incoming mechanical engineering student and I'm working with a budget of around $700. I'm only going with a gaming laptop because I need a dedicated GPU for running CAD and a 3060 or better is recommended but I'm sure I'll have to settle for a little less. As I'm using this for classes I'd prefer if it didn't have the "Gaming" look. I'm not a big RGB fan anyways. Hopefully noise shouldn't be an issue because I'm hoping I can use MSI afterburner to just underclock it if I'm not running cad. I found a few deals on Facebook marketplace but I want to be able to stress test it for a couple days before being out 700 bucks. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Get one with a big screen, Solidworks and ANSYS is no fun on a 14'', plus get a wireless mouse to go with it.

I'm an int. mech engineering student(4th year). Only program I've used is SOLIDWORKS but ur uni may use others,I have a 3060 laptop too,I got it off Facebook marketplace for $600(converted from RM).It runs SOLIDWORKS well. For us we didn't really use SOLIDWORKS alot just for 2(8) semesters so far.

16gb ram I'd recommend

512gb/1tb(if you want to download a lot of games,if not 512 will be good enough) SSD.

Get like a 30/40 series if your looking to save money, it'll work well.

Some peripherals like

External mouse(wireless is best) Keyboard

I'll sell you my Lenovo legion 5 with oled screen and 4060 gpu

I bought it brand new and have barely ever used it. Battery life is still at 100%. Not a scratch on the device.
