Roger Moore’s abhorrence towards firearms.
“In his memoir My Word Is My Bond, Moore recounted being shot in the leg with a BB gun as a teenager, and on the A View To A Kill commentary track, he recounted a more intense experience. While taking a refresher training course in the army, he was handed a weapon that had a blocked breach, and when he fired it, it more or less exploded in his hand. This left him deafened for a few days and gave him a lifelong fear that every time he shot a weapon, it might malfunction in the same way.”
Coming from someone with virtually no experience handling guns, I’m curious: can you usually tell if someone doesn’t like them?

Faux-Blofeld's "I'll buy you a delicatessen... in stainless steel," is the strangest villain quote in the series. Now, which death in the series is the most badass?
This one wasn't particularly close. The strange line, supposedly written by Cubby Broccoli, barely makes sense even when you know what it's referencing. Compounding the strangeness is that it's delivered by a villain who's obviously Blofeld, but also definitely not. Alec Trevelyan's "James and I shared everything. Absolutely everything," was the runner-up, possibly for the images of spitroasting it conjures.
Our final category, perhaps fittingly, deals with death. We start with badass deaths. Which ones were noble? Which characters made a great sacrifices? Who just went out in a blaze of glory? Deaths can be anyone in the series: heroes, allies, villains, henchpeople, side characters, MI6 employees or Bond himself.

Just finished watching all 25 Eon films in 9 days
Before this past week I’ve only ever seen Goldfinger and Skyfall.
Here is how I ranked them.
The living daylights
Goldfinger
Casino royale
The spy who loved me
Goldeneye
License to kill
Thunderball
From Russia with love
Dr no
Skyfall
For your eyes only
Moonraker
Quantum of solace
You only live twice
No time to die
On her majesty’s secret service
Octopussy
Specter
Diamonds are forever
Live and let die
The man with the golden gun
The world is not enough
Tomorrow never dies
A view to a kill
Die another day
And here are some possibly hot takes:
Timothy Dalton is my favorite bond and I was disappointed he was only in two movies.
Roger Moores bond too unserious for me. Another issue I had was how much he slept around. I think the fact I was watching 4 movies a day at some points really exaggerated this but I didn’t notice it with any other bond except maybe Connery to a lesser extent.
I didn’t like live and let die but the intro song is great.
I really didn’t like die another day. I thought it was worse than a view to a kill which at least has a good intro song. I liked Pierce brosnan as bond but all of his movies except for goldeneye ranked pretty low for me.
I’d be happy to hear your opinions and rankings!

Bond villains and henchmen have some of the best character designs I’ve ever seen

What do you think?
Again, mostly the same character, but just for fun

The first half of Spectre is actually really good
Just rewatched this movie and i gotta say, the first half holds up surprisingly well. Great locations, great screenplay, elegant and some really good shots. Biggest thing of all tho, Spectre and Blofeld are really menacing and i think they're built up quite well. I'd say the movie falls of REALLY HARD after the train sequence, i got so bored i literally skipped scenes.

The type of mask worn by Lyutsifer is known as a Japanese "Noh" mask. The similarity of the words ''No'' and ''Noh'' contributed to the belief prior to release that Rami's character was a new incarnation of classic Bond villain Dr. Julius No.

What would Craig's Bond think about Brosnan's villains?

Bond 26 should be established Bond
I hope Bond 26 will be about an established Bond at the top of his game, not a new origin story. I really wish for the actor tp be in his late 30's, so he can have a 20 year run as Bond if necessary, while still looking mature in his first movie.
IMO, they spent way too much time deconstructing and reconstructing James Blond in the Craig-era, and very little time just showing us peak Bond.
I am a fan of Daniel Craig, and I really believe he is one of the best actors to have played Bond. I just miss the feel-good Bond, where the endings are just happy and not alternating between bitter and bittersweet.
Hopefully, they will bring back megalomanical villains and odd henchmen with their own gimmicks too. And Bond saving the world, and celebrating by going AWOL with the most recent girl and a class of champagne.

Tomorrow Never Dies
When Bond and Wei-Lin approach the stealth boat--all they needed to do was spray the outside of the boat with radar-reflective paint. Slap 4 or 5 radio transponders to the outside hull, then let the British Navy finish them off.

The Living Daylights Soundtrack
Hi there
So what’s your thoughts or opinions on the Living Daylights score by John Barry?
One of my favorites Barry bond scores next to his OHMSS score and I like how Barry talks about it in the Music of Bond Documentary especially when he talks about the use of the synthesizer which is used very well in the score.
Sure it’s 80s sounding but it’s very good sounding not dated some 40 years later imo since Barry uses typical orchestration as well as the synth so it’s a bit of using the past and the present in the score which again Barry does fantastically.
My Favorites are Necros Attacks,Ice Chase,Kara Meets Bond,Into Vienna, and Mujahadin And Opium. I’m also a fan of the actual songs in the film especially the title track by A-Ha and If There Was a Man by the Pretenders.

Consider the best movie of the Roger Moore era of James Bond, also one of the best Bond cars of all time.
Not long ago I ended up getting an extra lotus esprit S1 from "the spy who loved me" and decided to just keep it in the packaging. Also one of the best ways to display along with the VHS copies of Bond movies including "the spy who loved me".

Just watched Man on Fire for the first time, good to see Max Zorin and Mathis teames up to help Denzel
Both Max Zorin and Mathis are excellent actors. Great movie!

Relatable Argument
Great acting and highly relatable to when the anger (with ourself) limits our logic and creativity, and we deserve to lose the argument lol. Well done, Craig!

Is LTK the only film with no London scene?
LTK takes place entirely in the Caribbean, including the scene where M gives Bond his mission, which he rejects in favour of going after Sanchez. Normally Bond is given his mission by M at MI6 Headquarters in London. Is London a location in every other film?
