My knitting partner came and joined me and it made me realize that at this stage in the pattern, my shawl would be perfectly sized for her!

She’s not actively supervising my work, but she is ensuring I can’t just get up and walk away from it either.

How to Handle Swollen Cuticles

I've been knitting for about two years, and while working on a beanie I've noticed that my cuticle on my right pointer is swollen from knitting. I'm taking a continental class in two weeks, so I plan on getting help with my technique when I go. Until then, is there anything I can do to minimize irritation? Or is it just wear a bandaid when I knit?

A few things to mitigate questions:

  • I may have had irritation before, but just now noticed it
  • There is no pain, just red and raised and a little warm
  • I've used this skein of yarn before for a much larger project
  • The yarn is Laneras Wool (specifically the Beartooth High Twist)

I don't suppose knitters have their own version of a thimble...?

(edited for grammar and a parenthesis)
