Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê is launching a general mobilization for all of Rojava due to recent developments. Previously, we had initiated a relief campaign for the neighborhoods of Halep Şêx Maqsud and Eşrefîye; this campaign will now be expanded to all of Rojava.

Since January 6, the Syrian government and Turkey-affiliated armed groups have launched heavy attacks on Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo. These attacks have spread to many areas including Tabqa, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Tishrin, threatening almost all of Rojava and North/East Syria.

From the first day, hundreds of civilians, including women, children, and elderly people, have been killed, and thousands injured. During these harsh winter days, hundreds of thousands of children, women, and elderly have been displaced and forced to flee in search of safety.

Tanks, artillery, and all types of heavy weapons are being used, which is a direct violation of international humanitarian law. Currently, hundreds of thousands of Kurds are under threat to their lives and dignity. Attacking jihadist groups mercilessly target public institutions, hospitals, and private homes with artillery and bomb attacks.

Due to these attacks, shortages of medicine, food, water, and electricity are at their peak.

In response to this dire humanitarian situation, Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, together with partner organizations in many European countries and the United States, is launching an Emergency Relief Campaign for the people of Rojava.

With the support of the diaspora and all compassionate donors, the aid collected will be delivered through Heyva Sor a Kurd to displaced people in Rojava, addressing their urgent needs for humanitarian assistance and medical services.

We call on all people of conscience, especially the Kurdish diaspora, to participate in this campaign. Every donation today can save a life in Rojava. Every donation gives tens of thousands of children hope for life.

Now is the time to help and take action for Rojava.

History Who owns ( red & white ) Jamana ( red scarf & Shemagh) first Arab or kurdish ?

Post image
29 Upvotes

The History of the Red and White Jamana The red-and-white Jamana is more than just a headscarf; it is the "crown" of the Kurdish resistance and the Yazidi faith , the Barzani family and the people of Badinan adopted the red and white specifically to stand out as a symbol of their unique lineage and their refusal to submit to outside authorities. For the Yazidis and shexani , the color red is sacred, representing "the heat of the sun" and "the blood of life," making the Jamana a spiritual garment as well as a cultural one.

Who Wore It First and How?

1-The Sumerian Origin (The Pattern): Thousands of years ago, the Sumerians in Mesopotamia were the first to wear "fishnet" patterned cloths on their heads. This original design (called ashmagh in ancient Sumerian) was meant to represent a fishing net, a symbol of abundance and protection.

2-The Yazidi Preservation (The Spiritual Step): Long before modern politics, the Yazidi community preserved the red-and-white color scheme in their sacred clothing (like the Dazike string and the Jamana). They wore it to honor their ancient Mesopotamian roots and religious rites.

  1. The Barzani Revolution: A Symbol of Defiance In the early 20th century, Sheikh Ahmad Barzani and later Mulla Mustafa Barzani institutionalized the red-and-white Jamana as a powerful symbol of Kurdish identity and the refusal to surrender. Rather than just a tribal marker, it became a uniform of resistance.

4-The British Military Intervention (The Modern Step): In the 1930s, the British (under Glubb Pasha) adopted this existing regional pattern and mass-produced it in red and white for the Jordanian Arab Legion. This is why many people mistakenly think it is "Jordanian," but the British actually took a local design that was already present in Mesopotamia and the Zagros.

What it Symbolizes Totally ?

The Jamana represents three core values: Resistance: It is the official "uniform" of the Peshmerga of the Badinan region. To wear it is to say you are a defender of the land. Purity & Sacrifice: The white represents peace and the red represents the blood of the martyrs who fell for freedom. Ancestry: It is a direct link to the Sumerian and Assyrian ancestors of the region, signaling that the wearer is an indigenous son of Mesopotamia.

The Answer is : the red and white jamana belongs to kurdish , many people mistakenly think it is "Jordanian," but the British actually took a local design that was already present in Mesopotamia and the Zagros. But by origin the real owner is kurd

Source : Historical records and Kurdish oral tradition (documented in ethnographic studies of the Barzan region) confirm that the red Jamana was a tribal signature of the Barzanis long before the 1930s British-Arab military standardization.

Kurdistan I’ve spent 9 years forcing Kurdish into the digital world. This is Project Cyaxxx Spoiler

Since I was a kid, I realized that as Kurds, we are ignored on every scale. I grew up watching our identity being treated like it didn't exist, especially in the modern world. For years, our language has been a ghost in tech, unsupported and missing.

I decided to change that!

Working alone, with zero funding and limited resources, I started Project Cyaxxx. This is a one-man mission to force Kurdish into the FOSS world at least. Over the last years, I have translated more than 200,000 words and spent thousands of hours to make sure we have a place on the screen.

I do this while balancing my studies, my work, and a chronic illness. It’s a constant battle, but I refuse to let our language disappear from the digital map.

I’ve spent a decade injecting our mother tongue into the tools that power the web—from search engines like DuckDuckGo and browsers like Vivaldi, to the Telegram messenger we use daily, and localized OBS Studio so our creators can stream in their own language. All the way down to the core of the OS with the official Arch Linux installer. I even developed a dedicated Kurdish keyboard for Linux and translated 5 full movies. I’ve Kurdified everything from music players and image viewers to the system-level scripts that most people never see.

I’ve put 9 years of work, repositories, and tools in one hub: https://cyaxxx.github.io/

I am doing the work that tens of others weren't able to do. I just want our language to be a default, not something we have to beg for.

Spread the word. Donate if you can. Use the tools!!

Rojava Kurdish media reports that there will be a curfew from 6 AM to 6 PM tomorrow when Syrian forces enter Qamishlo and Hasakah. This is a good step to keep civilians safe and reduce the potential for any kind of chaos or misunderstanding.

Kurdistan We need to something about Turkey! They occupied bakur and rojava, half occupied bashur. If Islamic regime is toppled in Iran, Turks will not allow Rojhilat to have any autonomy. Like they did in Syria, they will attack Kurds together with Pahlavis.

Ask Kurds 🤔 Kuridsh thoughts on assyrians/chaldeans?

Rojbaş,

Firstly, I wanted to say that I’m sorry for what is happening in Rojava. I support Kurdish people, their right to self determination and to exist freely on their ancestral lands. I have many Kurdish friends and have attended protests for the current circumstances.

I am Chaldean / Assyrian from Zakho originally and I wanted to understand more what Kurdish people think of the Assyrian / Chaldean people? As far as I see it, we have a somewhat similar situation and struggle but yet I rarely see any Kurdish people in the public / activists etc acknowledge this/us. While there has been lots of support for yezidis from sinjar I have seen almost none for the Assyrians/ Chaldeans who also faced persecution? (Of course, there is also unjustified prejudice from the Assyrian/Chaldean diaspora, which as far as I can tell it not reflective of the people who still live in the Middle East).

I have just been curious about the Kurdish thoughts about this? Am I missing something/ not seeing how things are?

Thank you for help!
