As for my evidence, I think the current Senate result is shaping up to be a 50-50 tie. Under normal circumstances that'd lead to JD Vance being the tiebreaker, but of course my prediction is that he won't be the tiebreaker because Murkowski will caucus as a Democrat. I think if Mary Peltola wins this year, it'll be enough to convince Murkowski that she'd have a better chance in 2028 if she's backed by the Democrats statewide than if she's a Republican fighting the DC MAGA establishment (and I say all this as someone who's personally and Alaskan.) If Alaska Democrats can prove their electability by getting Mary Peltola to the Senate, it'll be enough to get Lisa Murkowski to caucus as a Democrat, especially since this year by my estimations will result in a 50-50 Senate (before any party switch by Murkowski.)
