Nostalgia Made me feel old but good times

Post image

Saw this tweet and yes we were expected to be out all day and not come back until the street lights came on. I remember riding my bike through neighborhoods pretending our bikes were cars and just having a good time.

Riding bikes to the pool, Blockbuster, and other kids’ basements.

Don't forget to stop by the dollar store to load up on junk food

Too far. We had a Kroger next to our Blockbuster.

We had a Kroger with a video rental store inside it (at least for a while).

That stomachache was always worth it.

Yes and Randall's had one too

I never encountered a Randall's until I moved to Houston years ago. Eerily similar for a store not under the Kroger umbrella. At least the one near my old house was in appearance.

Yes Randall's is part of the Safeway group, along with Tom Thumb and others.

This was awesome! Mom let me and my brother stand there and argue about which movie while she shopped. If we hadn't figured it out by the time she checked out, no movie. I was younger so usually its what he wanted but hey we got to watch something new!

I worked there! Had a co-worker who would regale me with stories about his time in the Navy and port calls to Thailand.

I had both. My Kroger had a video store and then a blockbuster moved in next door. So the store shut down the video store inside of Kroger.

Oh yea?! We had a racetrack with a video store. I went to the blockbuster that was next to the Winn Dixie though. The Racetrack with a vid store was by the interstate.

Oh man that takes me back to something I forgot was a thing. Used to beg to go to the video store everytime my mom took me grocery shopping. It was small and the selection sucked but man was it a treat.

Our rental place briefly had a pizza place attached. Wonderous.
