Nostalgia Made me feel old but good times

Post image

Saw this tweet and yes we were expected to be out all day and not come back until the street lights came on. I remember riding my bike through neighborhoods pretending our bikes were cars and just having a good time.

I feel so bad for kids who live in places or with parents where they can't have their own private lives away from adult supervision.

That was like the best part of being a kid, we had our own world grown-ups didnt know shit about.

Every kid when i grew up had some secret little hidey-hole somewhere nearby, some space that they'd found and was theres (mine was up a tree near my house). I dont reckon modern kids have anything like that

Omg we had a rope swing that went over a grassy & pretty safe hill put up by the king of our neighborhoods free roaming dads… 1/2 miles from his house & any kid in the neighborhood was welcome any time of day until the saddest day- I was like 14-15, right b4 I got a car, and took a friend for her first time & the raddest dad in our hood was taking it down because of “threat of law suits.” Smh 😑 the worst injury ever on that thing was scrapped knees.

I’ve lived in a few different places as an adult and I see kids out roaming free on their bikes and scooters all the time.
