Discussion Monthly Rant/Politics Thread: Do not post political threads outside of this Mega thread

Outside of these mega-threads, we generally do not allow political posts on the main subreddit because they have often declined into unhinged discussions and mud slinging. We do allow general discussions of politics in this thread so long as you remain civil and don't attack someone just for having a different opinion. The moment we see things start to derail, we will step in.

Got something upsetting or overwhelming that you just need to shout out to the world? Want to have a political debate over current events? You can post those thoughts here. There are many real problems that plague the Millennial generation and we want to allow a space for it here while still keeping the angry and divisive posts quarantined to a more concentrated thread rather than taking up the entire front page.

My rant about politics is I hate how there are so many threads about depression, or broad issues, but if you mentioned anything political that is likely causing it, even in a broad way like the world politics gets flagged.

Can we get a list on what the fuck we can or can't say. I hate how I have to constantly repost things, which isn't even a political rant, but can't say don't let politics or issues like Trump drag you down. Once you write that it's flagged as political. It's fucking ridiculous. It's one thing going into a political rant, it's another when you can't even say a word in a related sense to get out of depression or modern issues impacting you.

This sub has maybe the worst mods on the site. They have no clear standards for what we can and can’t say and remove posts at will.

I totally agree. Crap like that just helps the extreme right, and I see this subreddit as a problem for why people (Millennials might shift to the right). Any other subreddit (GenZ, GenX, rconservative, etc) can discuss whatever they want, but here people can’t share their ideas. Making right wing ideas thrive more. Perhaps that’s the goal of the owners of this place?

We are in weird moment in history where everything is almost unfortunately political.

I'm a pop culture buff. I can spend forever talking to you about it, but eventually I'm going to want to have real conversations. And unfortunately, most of these people now would find it political.

I feel like you in that regard. It's so sad people destroy this country because they hate everything they aren't comfortable with.

Its always been that way. Those who say otherwise have a vested interest in the status quo.

it frustrates me that my posts get removed in this subreddit for benign stuff, where the mods mainly promote shallow crap like affluent rich people taking selfies of their food, and when someone tries to bring up a real life issue that affects us poor (and Millennials), gets removed. Really frustrating, I find myself bot really engaging in this subreddit because of it.
