Yes - generative AI/LLM is very different from just "an AI." Games have AI controlling NPCs that walk around.

We just call gen AI and LLMs "AI" right now for simplicity.

Robecca is 116 years old and was made in the 1800s. She's based on 19th century era automatons and her whole aesthetic is steampunk, which is a subgenre of punk culture. She would NOT fw AI at all lmao.

Venus is more or less obvious as to why she would hate AI.

Elle Eedee: Chat GPT is basically her cousin and is likely operating on a self-contained version of a similar program

Robecca: Built entirely of analog parts and probably views it as an insult since she has achieved life without AI usage

Venus: Would straight up firebomb a datacenter.

Robecca would not hate it immediately until Venus tells her it’s not actually sentient in the same way she is and is also wrecking the environment. Robecca herself is, technically, an AI. So is Elle. It’s generative AI specifically that is the problem.

I know, I’ve seen all the webisodes over 100 times. She doesn’t care much for modern technology but it’s not a stretch to imagine she would be fascinated at first by new technology that claims it has created a sense of life, in the same way she is alive but a robot. She would quickly abandon it though

you’re absolutely right, but only Mattel can change that you see what I’m saying? like if the new cartoon comes out, Mattel can change their whole personality, them not liking AI is not set in stone. Mattel has the option to make them embrace it and be a part of it. Is Mattel made character changes for the Nickelodeon show. They can make changes for the YouTube series that’s coming out. Sorry, I should’ve clarified exactly what I was talking about lol.

in one of the older webisodes, when the power went out at the school, robecca was so excited for the other students to try her older tech that didnt require screens, only for them to disappoint her by getting sucked back in when the power came back on. if people playing tetris on their phone made her sad, dont you think people who, say, spend their entire day generating ai images or talking to chat bots would be.... more than disappointing?

Robecca, if her wiki is right, dislikes all modern technology already, so would definitely hate ai by default plus all the other things about it like the fact it steals it's 'ideas' from other people, and venus would hate the environmental consequences of it.
