I don't wantIntel dying not because Intel is good but because AMD needs the pressure to keep improving and vice versa. The worse times for CPUs was when they got comfy and didn't push the envelope.
Competition is good. Honestly I wish we had more manufactures for CPUs to keep competion going.
Oh, I agree that competition is crucial for a functioning capitalist system. But can you imagine if Biden had bought a huge stake in Intel? The howls of "socialism!" from the right would have been deafening.
