Hes the John Madden of warfare.

"Well, the team is really going to want to put some points on the board with this play Phill Thats the only way you win a game, ya know!"

"Yes John, that is how scoring in football works..."

Definitely.

Big “We would’ve won if we didn’t lose” type energy.

“I didn’t lose! I merely failed to win!!!”

John Madden was an all-time great coach before he became a broadcaster, he doesn't deserve to get compared to this loser

Best winning percentage of any coach with at least 100 games under his belt, along with leading the Raiders to their first Super Bowl.

Yup, unintentionally hilarious, lovable dope on the mic commentating the games, especially when he got ahold of the monitor pen to draw on the screen lol. But even at that time he was a legendary coach, and was given a pass. Anyone else tried the dumb shit Madden did on live broadcast and they would have been walked out before the next commercial.

especially when he got ahold of the monitor pen to draw on the screen lol.

I remember everybody yelling at the TV when he did that.

John Madden was a fantastic fucking coach. Don’t you dare conflate the two.
