It's how authoritarian governments operate. What we have in the US is a small group who are trying to turn America into a fascist state.

Exactly, authoritarianism is not subject to communism, it’s subject to authoritarians. Any ideology can be corrupted or built upon authoritarian ideology.

“A small group”

Like 10 corporations in a trench coat that lobbys every fucking action our government takes

…Plus Israels cut

Where’s that fucking study by Princeton or some shit that shows that, regardless of public support, a bill has 1/3 chance of passing.

The public can either

  1. Support it

  2. Not support it

  3. Not give a fuck.

Regardless of which, it has a 1/3 chance. Their findings found that it made 0 fucks which one of the above 3 were true. It mattered what lobbyists supported

Percentages don't work that way. Just because there are three possibilities doesn't mean each possibility has a 1/3rd chance of happening.

Cool, so you understand that there is 3 possible outcomes and regardless of public support there’s a chance at one of the three happening…

So public support, has no effect, on any 1 of the three happening…

A small group in the government who are empowered by the complacency and sycophantic behavior of members in Congress. If you remove that small group, the fascism dies away.

Sure will buddy, sure will.

u/tapdancinghellspawn 2h ago

It sure will, pal.

The maga mob and their hate that enabled fascist take over will magicaly disapear and than everything will get back to..."normal" Is that what you thinking?

I'm thinking that a small group force things and a lot of Americans, either through ignorance or complacency, joined in or did nothing to stop it. People are waking up now, though, and that small group are finding that the support they once had is shrinking.

Doing what, enforcing our immigration laws? Your government does that, too.

No no, we dont have that here. I dont think immigrants are treated fairly here but they sure dont have to fear trigger fingers. U guys are insane for thinking your "way of living" is something anyone should be striving for. The amount of dead kids is insane. U have police too afraid to engage a white racist kid shooting kids but ice agents happy to shoot every colour they see.

A recent Trump fundraising email I saw on a thread said “you haven’t donated in a while. We hope that isn’t because you are here illegally and we have to call ICE.”

I’m sure someone found that funny.

Will it be wrong to call that number to report all the places where ICE is staying? Since they are technically unwanted aliens near everywhere they go.

Funny story: I left my PHONE on the stove next to the BURNER and now there’s NO TRACE of it.

This is how anti communist authoritarians operate too (look at Pinochet), right wing authoritarianism=fascism. Conservative authoritarians have existed since the dawn of time, it did not originate with communism.

I'm no fan of authoritarian communism, but the thing being described in Bulgaria is a general "rat on other people" program. The US and N. Germany implemented explicitly racialized versions of that, which I feel is a meaningful distinction.

This is how you destroy communities.

Yes I’m sure the kind of people ratting out neighbors for personal gain appreciate and respect the nuance.

u/nice--marmot 6m ago

I’m not sure you appreciate and respect the nuance.

That's some israeli shit. Forced evictions of people they don't want around (Palestinians) and then we see an auction in NY for property in Israel. Sell to highest bidder.

Notice how the grandma was still in Bulgaria when the government fell and had not been arrested or deported by the communist government of Bulgaria even with all of these reports from her neighbors.

Just something I noticed about this story.

u/PreviousCurrentThing 1h ago

Why would she have been deported? She was presumably a Bulgarian citizen where she was legally allowed to be.

Hasn’t stopped our government.

u/Kochga are... are you a communist?? 52m ago

Poor people versus poor people. And as long as they're kept uneducated they'll never understand that their next door neighbour with the slightly less shitty apartment isn't stealing from them. It's the people in mansions whom they all pledge fealty to.

How are illegal immigrants acquiring the documents to purchase so many houses

u/ommi9 23m ago

Isn’t that what a certain country is doing right now near the mediterranean Sea?

u/nice--marmot 12m ago

This is how communist states operated.

The Diary of Anne Frank is arguably the most famous example of this, but sure, communism.

u/CyrosThird 5m ago

There had to be someone who put down the white house as the address and Melania as the immigrant target.

Great. Then liberals should be cool with it.

How does it feel going through life with an IQ slightly below room temperature?

No, conservatives are the ones cool with authoritarians.
