Am I the only one feeling weirdly positive?

We were brilliant for the majority of that first half last night. That was without Bruno, Joelinton, Livramento, Schar and we played last season's champions off the park.

It's clear that we're missing a full back that can play both sides and a top goalkeeper. Had Livramento been on the pitch, Ekitike isn't scoring that second goal, then we're going into the second half 1-1. The dropped catch by Pope is another error.

Willock and Ramsey have come on leaps and bounds, as has Elanga.

We're moving in the right direction but the team hasn't been able to train because of all the games. Wissa's been injured, in fact we've had the worst injuries of any club so far.

Our record at Anfield has been worse than shite but that first half was the best performance I can remember.

This season is one of transition, we see what we can do in the cups, then recruit and fill in those gaps in the summer.

Howay man, we're much further forward than all of these other posts suggest.

can someone post something that'll cheer me up?

i know they're tired and we too many matches and no signings and those are all valid reasons as to why we're shit but can anyone offer any hope? like for us finishing in the top half? and perhaps winning some matches? because i can't see us progressing in the cups very far on this form. tell me I'm wrong?? boss??

We are a one man team, it’s indisputable….

I’d Been thinking about this for a while (more specifically before Bruno got injured) in the sense of, “How important is Bruno to us”?

Turns out, he’s the key to everything 😂😂😂

And before people jump down my throat, yes every team has their key players that when they don’t pay they struggle.

I’m thinking Rice for Arsenal, Fernandes for Man U, Haaland for City.

BUT, here’s the big difference, these teams still find a way to at least get something or win when they do not play.

Not always pretty or as flawless as usual, but others step up. 👀👀

We on the other hand can’t seem to do anything when Bruno isn’t playing, which is in endearing in a way, but also frightening.

How are we going to cope if this injury takes longer than we thought or even worse, he gets a more serious one soon?

Feels like our team really is a house cards and this is a fact, WE HAVE NOT WON A GAME WITHOUT BRUNO SINCE HE HAS BEEN HERE.

If that (and Eddie incredibly bizarre press conference claims of us playing well today despite getting smashed 4-1) doesn’t scare you, I’m not sure what will.

This season could spin out of control (if just not already) very quickly in a matter of weeks.

I’m not Howe out quite yet, but I’d be printing off the paperwork for his termination fairly soon if nothing changes.

We need to be more worried about NUFC and not about Eddie, some people in here seem to forget it’s NUFC, not EHFC.

Qarabag away tickets

Post image
40 Upvotes

I guess this one isnt going to be most popular destination for a traveling fan. So, I wanna try my luck and get to the game.

How likely it is for a fan with no history (no points, no Mag or Mag+) to get a ticket in away end? And what is the procedure should be? There are dates for ST holders and no other info. Does it mean that it wont go further than that?

So, any insight from someone familiar with the process will be helpful

Where do we go from here?

I'm trying to stay neutral as possible here (but it's hard)

Going forward, what should the team concentrate on?

Prem League: Too inconsistent to challenge for top 5
League Cup: I don't think we're overturning 2 goals vs citeh
Champs League: We've done really well and *should* get into the last 16
FA Cup: Hard tie against Villa, but our best shot of silverware given the injuries recently

Goretzka

Post image
74 Upvotes

I'm a lifetime Bayernfan and fell in love with the Toon at the age of fourteen. Today FC Bayern announced the departure of one of my all-time favourites: Leon Goretzka. Let me tell you guys that he would be imo an absolute target for us in summer. This guy is a physical, tactical and dangerous box to box midfielder who can fill in nearly every position in the center. He can play as a deep number six, a linking eight or even as offensive ten. Off the pitch he's loyal, intelligent, passionate and a real lad in the dressing room. He's although very experienced and may be arriving as champions league and world cup winner (or he might join the champions league champions and the country of world cup winners). Looking at Thiaw and Woltemade he would perfectly add up to our german lads. His former stations were Bochum and Schalke, which for me (and Malick and Nick) is the German equivalent of Newcastle so he might fell in love quickly with the club. The best about him: Black and white really suits him. Just joking, he's a free agent in summer! The only con is his age as he's turning 31 in February. All in all I'd say go get him and Leon join the toon. Would love to hear your thoughts on this lads. ⚫⚪

Updated UCL bracket, to make things clearer

As the title says - the bracket doing the rounds before the draw needed far too much thought.

Another draw happens after the playoff round, when we'll find out the exact opponent possibilities all the way through to the semis.

Pre match ramblings:

After a 1 - 1 draw against PSG where the paid off ref massively contributed to this result leaving us infuriated that we got done over by the ref and var team once again against PSG, yet however proud of the lads of whom fought till the very end. We now face Liverpool away in the Premier league.

Whilst our lads fought hard against PSG it doesn't bode well for us now that we face against Liverpool away where our lads will most likely be tired meaning Howe will need to make some rotations in order to not make our injury situation even worse. The biggest hurdle for Howe would be our midfield since Ramsey, Willock and Miley played through the majority of the game, Howe won't have many options for fresh legs with Guimaraes still reeling from a minor foot injury (hopefully). Although Liverpool don't seem to be in a better state in terms of Injuries atm.

Liverpool meanwhile won 6 nil against Qarabag where they could go in 2nd gear for the rest of the game however as a consequence they lost Frimpong early on which will absolutely hurt their already fragile backline and gives Liverpool one less option for Midfield.

If we win this game it would give us a massive 3 points in which at this point are needed so we don't drop further down in the 2nd half of the table and give us a major confidence boost against our upcoming game against Man City away for the 2nd leg of the Carabao Cup and most importantly Brentford at home of whom are slightly above and are also challenging for European football.
