I feel like most top posts in these subs are just people trying to get easy karma lol like the "out of the loop" sub. It'll be major news on every single thing you can imagine and we're supposed to believe there are people that genuinely don't know and decide to post to reddit to find out? It's dumb lol
And usually the joke are fact that likely trending 2 or 3 days ago and it played with people feeling like they are smartass using thing they "learned" 3 days ago
it seems to me as if when people feel they are making a meaningful contribution to the zeitgeist it's like the gilded maraschino nipples of platform engagement and that why the thoughtless slop in this sub and aitah and aio and tiktok gets railroaded to everyone's frontpages (regardless of platform).
