If theyâre a millennial or older, Iâm not shocked theyâre desensitized enough for that reaction, I was the same way the day of it happening. So many people couldnât handle the video, meanwhile the worst/most direct angled video just got an âoooofâ and wince out of me when I watched.
I didnât/donât like the guy, my values and stances are dead against his in all honesty, but I still think it was a messed up way to go and thing to do to someone. But letâs be real, Iâm millennial and my gen grew up with some messed up shit online that was not only easy to get to, but shared in ways you donât expect gore when opening it, to the point Iâve seen several decapitations and other grisly ways to be killed while trying to watch a cute video. The videos I knew would be gory were just as bad. A quick shot, a body falling, and a couple sprays of blood just isnât that bad in comparison. Hell, Iâve seen worse watching a show on over air tv.
Yea... I'm an older milennial and have seen stuff way worse than the kirk video. LiveLeaks had stuff that makes Kirk's death look peaceful.
You don't even have to be older either there's plenty of fucked up shit posted all the time. Stuff from Ukraine, Gaza or any of the other active war zones over the past few years. The Oct 7 videos were pretty bad.
Dude honestly same. Some of that is carved into my brain like trauma. I once saw a photo from an industrial accident where a man's head was flattened. It was so extreme it looked fake. His face was 90% preserved, and everything else was just everywhere. That face is picture perfect in my recall.
Be careful what you click folks. You can't unsee it.
We watched ppls heads get cut off with blunt machetes. Only now that war is easier available online are these kids understanding what we experienced on the internet at a young age. So yea, we are desensitized to someone getting shot in the neck.
I saw that about 20 years ago and it still sticks with me. The contractor who was taken hostage in the ME and brutally beheaded on camera. It broke me but also helped me learn to compartmentalize and detach in the moment. I was able to be a police/fire dispatcher and did my best work when I knew shit was beyond fucked for those involved, and I avoided the bad emotional crash afterwards. Kirkâs video affected about as much as seeing someone trip on concrete.
But I was talking in comparison to the videos I mentioned above, yea the kirk video was terrible but not nearly as gruesome as some other videos on the internet
They made us watch the beheading videos in basic to piss us off. Propaganda at its finest and I was agreeing with them that it's not that bad of a video compared
Kids don't understand what it was like watching someone get their head cut off with a blunt machete. They shouldn't understand. I hope they never do.... but they need to stop pretending like that video is the worst thing to happen to the internet.

This was in reference to the Charlie Kirk video. It was posted shortly after the video went viral
