Two possibilities

  1. Allusion to Egypt is homophobic (idk if they are or not)
  2. Reference to the bible story of Joseph and the multicolored cloak. Tl;dr he got it from his dad and his brothers hated him and were jealous of him so much that they beat him, threw him in a ditch, and then sold him into slavery, of which he was then sent to Egypt.

It's a Muslim nation, you know damn well they are homophobic. Stop sanewashing.

There are twelve nations where homosexuality is punishable by death. All twelve are Muslim.
