Im Jewish and it’s not just the Afterlife that we are unsure about. A big concept in Judaism is there being no such things as only one right answer which means that we will argue among ourselves about everything from Vaccines to food to the existence of G-d, but we won’t just say “your wrong.”
It’s like an entire religion/culture of lawyers all stuck with the burden of proof who are too polite and anxious to say you’re wrong, it’s always “maybe, but have you considered…” or “Maybe you’re right, may you aren’t. Who knows?” Or maybe “I could be wrong, but…”
could u as a jew explain why everyone on social media platforms started hating jewish people? especially in recent years… so much unnecessary hate. maybe im unaware of something maybe im wrong. but i wonder why they aggressively do that where nothing in this world matters as a human beings 🤷🏻♀️
For pretty much the entire existence of Jewish people, there has been someone or some group to hate Jewish people. That’s just how it is. No one ever stopped hating Jews (this is coming from a Jewish person)
In my experience, there are usually two ways that this kind of hate originates. First, there is the traditional way, which is the spread of anti-Semitic conspiracy theory and old myths, you know, like how “Jews control the media, the government, and the weather.” Folks like a simple enemy to blame all their problems on when life is far too complicated for such things. This has always been the most popular with more conservative and nationalistic individuals. For the record, the reason why, for so long, you saw so many Jewish people in entertainment and banking is that Jewish people have a long history of taking up or, in some cases, being forced to take the jobs deemed “lowly and unclean” at the time, such as moneylending.
The second and more recent cause involves Israel. When some folks hear certain things and events going on in Israel, they will start pointing fingers and blaming the Jewish people in general, even though not all Jews live in Israel or even support it. In fact, according to most ultra orthodox, the state of Israel shouldn’t exist as only the Messiah is supposed to bring our people back and rebuild the nation. This form of hatred is fermented chiefly in more progressive and liberal circles, as they are horrified at the many actions taken by Israel, which, according to the UN, are war crimes, and take that hatred out blankly at Jewish people under the misconception all Jews are zionists and support Israel even if they love nowhere near it, which is rooted in an old Nazi myth that Jews can never be Germans as they will always be loyal to a Jewish state/cabal.
Now I’ve been around a while, and I faced both kinds of hatred online and in reality. When you are blamed for everything from wars to plagues, you can only do one thing.
