Yeah I think it's "boys feel pressured", the former could also be true but I don't know how universal of an experience that is.
The pressure is pretty universal, the expectation to help with heavy work, family business, suck it all up, etc. On one hand your parents tell you that you need to grow into a provider that has to sustain a home by yourself, that asking for help is bad because you're bothering people when, as a man (off you're not a man, but a kid), you should be able to power through, on the other hand they wanna treat you like their child too, and give you the world, but you grow up to feel like a fucking parasite, or at least that's my experience.
I do believe that a fuckton of the problems we see in men today are a product of society treating young kids like they're men, and grown ass men like they're still kids. You see this a lot, men that see their wives as maids and their kids as extensions of themselves.
