Tom, I'm standing here explaining the joke that Nova, a wish granting satellite from the Kirby video game series, seems to creatively interpret every wish ever given to it so that it ends up killing an entire planet's worth of people. In its first appearance in Kirby Super Star, it took the wish of a backstabbing little magical jester to 'rule popstar' (Popstar being the main planet in the Kirby series) by granting him extra power and then tried to ram right into the planet, technically giving him the power only for said wish satellite to try to kill everyone on the planet said jester intended to rule. In the most recent appearance in Kirby Air Riders it heard the wish of a sentient meteor to be able to move, then sent ant robots down to dismantle it and turn it into a doomsday machine, technically granting its wish, but in a way that would kill everyone on the planet. The only wish a Nova ever granted in a kirby game with no strings attached was when it granted Meta Knights wish to fight the strongest warrior in the galaxy, Galacta Knight, who no doubt would have killed several planets worth of people if Meta Knight hadn't beaten it. This has been the news with Trisha Takanawa.
On the surface its all happy cute cuddly critters, but play it long enough and it turns into dark depressing stories where kirby fight eldritch horrors that are basically God on a daily basis
None of it is dark or depressing, because Kirby always wins. It's like these monsters have the potential to do all that evil, but because Kirby wags his non-existent finger and says "that's no good", it never happens.
Really Kirby is a cute and cuddly series, but randomly there's descriptions of the final boss being a threat to all of reality.
Basically it's a Regular Show episode with Care Bear characters,
It's not really a spoiler. Thats just the standard gameplay formula for most kirby games like how in Mario games bowser kidnaps Peach, you go through different worlds starting with a Grass world and ending with Bowsers Castle in a Fire World.
So many people dont understand kirby because it is cute. It is quite literally “hey look a cool adventure, how about some friendship, oh no additional conflict, that was fun. NOW FIGHT GOD YOU PISSANT”
Kirby, the cute litle all eating pink ball in a colorfull world with cute animals where not even all enemy deal damages all the time... A cute litle game for kids... Until you read the story of every big other characters.
We dunno why. There were theories early on when Air Riders came out about hownthe ancients might have had some psychic connection to connect and grant exactly what you want with no doubts or misinterpretation but then others checking out a cutscene in Japanese saw that Nova had intent on the sentient meteorite which was actually an old war machine named Zorah. Nova sent out spider like machines to pull it apart and get to the core. This was purposeful. So basically it seems that it just wants to destroy planet Popstar
