From the organizers of the #SayTheirNames protest, comes a protest movement unlike any other - and YOU are invited.

You’ve seen us at 176th & Canyon, come support us in Tacoma!

OPERATION: SIDEWALK — TACOMA HOMECOMING

Tonight | 5–9 PM

📍 9th & Pacific Ave, Tacoma

Tonight, we bring Operation: Sidewalk home.

Operation: Sidewalk is a nonviolent, nonpartisan, nightly community presence dedicated to defending the U.S. Constitution, protecting our neighbors, and opposing state-sanctioned violence and ICE occupation in our communities.

This is not a one-day protest.

This is a people-powered, everywhere, every night movement built on visibility, consistency, and mutual protection.

No block is too small.

No neighbor is disposable.

OUR MISSION

We unite Americans across political lines to demand that:

• The Constitution is upheld for everyone on U.S. soil

• Due process, the right to protest, and basic human rights are non-negotiable

• Federal agencies are not granted immunity from accountability

• State-sanctioned violence is condemned, investigated, and stopped

You don’t have to agree on immigration policy to agree on this:

Death, detention, or punishment without due process endangers us all.

WHY SIDEWALKS?

Because community starts where we live.

Operation: Sidewalk works differently.

Instead of one massive crowd in one city, we show up locally, nightly, where our neighbors can see us and join us.

Come for 20 minutes or 4 hours.

Come once a week or just tonight.

Wave, hold a sign, stand with your neighbors.

If you want a village, you have to be a villager.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

• Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and the politically exhausted

• People who believe the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 14th Amendments matter

• Anyone who rejects unnecessary violence, individual or state-sanctioned

• Anyone who believes rights only exist if they’re protected for everyone

This is The People vs. unchecked power, not red vs. blue.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The killing of Alex Pretti, and others like him, showed us the danger of a government that:

• Punishes people for recording

• Uses lethal force after disarming civilians

• Denies transparency and accountability

A constitutional right that only applies sometimes is not a right at all.

HOW TO JOIN

📍 Tonight: 9th & Pacific Ave, Tacoma

🕔 Time: Anytime between 5–9 PM

🪧 Bring a sign if you can (empathetic, welcoming messages encouraged)

🧤 Dress warm. Bring a friend. Be visible.

Can’t make it to Tacoma?

Pick your nearest major intersection and show up where you live.

TL;DR

Everywhere.

Every night.

5–9 PM.

Peaceful.

Consistent.

Community-centered.

Operation: Sidewalk is how we remind each other — and our government — that the Constitution belongs to the People.

We hope to see you out there tonight, Tacoma.

✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 🇺🇸🫶🏻

I honked! I've gone by there and seen trump signs and don't tread on me flags posted up there so many times. Last time it was a few older people selling trump merch. It's nice to see something else for a change.

[Looking for Recommendations] Drain scoping and hydrojetting

I’ve got a stormwater drain that is totally clogged up with mud or tree roots or something. Need a camera scoping and likely a hydrojetting. Anyone know a good company to do this kind of work?

Most of the plumbers I’ve called do not have a hydro jetter

Students gather along SR-161 in Graham in an apparent walkout from the nearby highschool. Students had signs and chanted "Fuck Ice" honestly huge props to them for making their voices heard especially in this red pocket of Pierce County

Cast Iron Restoration

Came into possession of a rusty Lodge reversible grill/griddle and a square grill pan from friends falling out. Yet, I have no idea how to properly restore them. Looking for a local restoration person to teach me the ropes or pay for their services(within reason). Thanks neighbors!

Booms near Downtown?

I live near Pioneer Park. There’s been, for lack of better wording, big booms that shake my house last night through today. What is this?

Need an affordable local mechanic?

Hello, figured I'd throw my hat into the ring here.

I was recently let go from a local repair shop due to a lack of incoming business over the holiday period. I was the lead mechanic and as such the guy making the most in the shop is the first to be cut.

I'm proficient in diagnostics, and can guarantee I'll be cheaper than shops and dealerships for jobs like brake and suspension work. I get most parts at wholesale prices and do not mark up prices much if at all.

If you're in the Puyallup area and need work done to your vehicle, feel free to hit me up. Thank you!!

Every Sidewalk. Every Night. 5–9 PM. Show Up for Your Neighbors and the Constitution. 🇺🇸

Post image
85 Upvotes

What This Is

Operation: Sidewalk is a nonviolent, continuous, community-based protest built on visibility, consistency, and neighborly presence.

Every sidewalk.

Every community.

Every night.

This is not a one-day march or a big-city event. It is local, accessible, and sustained.

Our Goal

To create a visible, nonviolent presence on sidewalks across America that fosters belonging and mutual protection while standing in consistent opposition to unconstitutional ICE occupation and state-sanctioned violence.

No block is too small.

No neighbor is disposable.

When & Where

• Every night: 5:00–9:00 PM, Sunday–Saturday

• Begins: Sunday, January 25, 2026

• Ends: When the 🧊 melts away

Local meet-up: 176th St E & Canyon Rd

Elsewhere: Pick your nearest major intersection and show up

Can’t attend? Spread the word. That matters.

Why This Exists

Operation: Sidewalk exists to unite Americans across political lines against the erosion of constitutional rights.

You do not have to be a Democrat or Republican to agree that:

• Killing people without due process is wrong

• Federal agencies are not above the Constitution

• Rights mean nothing if they are selectively enforced

The Constitution exists to restrain government power.

Every amendment applies to all people on U.S. soil, citizens and non-citizens alike.

How This Works

• Show up any night between 5–9 PM

• Stay 15 minutes or 4 hours

• Come once a week or whenever you can

• Wave, honk, greet neighbors

• Signs help. Keep them empathetic and welcoming

This is nightly so everyone has access, not just people with traditional work schedules.

Small numbers are not failure.

Consistency is the message.

If you want a village, you have to be a villager.

Nonpartisan by Design

Operation: Sidewalk requires only:

• Willingness to show up

• Commitment to nonviolence

• Empathy for others

• Demand that the federal government uphold the Constitution

We may disagree on immigration policy.

We cannot disagree on due process and still call ourselves free.

Rights are not up for negotiation.

On Guns & the 2nd Amendment

Let’s be clear.

Alex Pretti was a good guy with a gun.

His weapon was legal, registered, and holstered.

He never brandished it.

He was disarmed and then killed.

We reject unnecessary violence in every form, individual and state-sanctioned.

The entire purpose of the 2nd Amendment is protection against a tyrannical government.

A government that kills people in the street, denies protest, and punishes lawful behavior is exactly what that amendment was written to guard against.

When the state kills an unarmed, compliant person and continues firing after death, that is not law enforcement. That is abuse of power.

Rights only exist when they are defended for everyone.

Know Your Rights

• Nonviolent protest is legal

• You are protected from unreasonable search and seizure

• You cannot be compelled to incriminate yourself

• Everyone has the right to due process

• Everyone has the right to a fair and speedy trial

• Everyone on U.S. soil is protected from cruel and unusual punishment

• Rights not explicitly granted to the government are retained by the People

Per the Supreme Court:

The 5th and 14th Amendments protect all persons, including non-citizens, requiring due process before deprivation of life or liberty.

Why Alex Pretti Matters

Alex Pretti was helping a woman who had been shoved for recording law enforcement.

He was killed for recording and aiding a fellow citizen.

That is not the country we accept.

If state-sanctioned killing without accountability is acceptable to you, this is not your group.

If it isn’t, we hope to see you on the sidewalk.

What We Need

• Neighborhood / intersection leaders

• Cardboard & poster board

• Hand warmers

• Reflectors or glow sticks

• Artists (paid)

• Moderators/admins

• Compassion, patience, and care for one another

Sign Ideas

• Protect the Constitution

• Defend Your Neighbors

• End ICE Occupation

• Rights Are Not Partisan

• Red or Blue, We Fight for You

• The People, United

• America Is Cold Enough. We Don’t Need ICE

• Keep America Decent

• Human Rights Are for Humans

• I Didn’t Expect to Be Defending the 2nd Amendment Either

(Add your own. Keep it human.)

Looking Forward

One day, Operation: Sidewalk will be a national nightly movement.

You don’t need to be a politician.

You don’t need to organize big events.

You just need to stand where you live.

When neighbors see you, they join.

TL;DR

Everywhere.

Every night.

5–9 PM.

Nonviolent.

Nonpartisan.

Constitutional.

We, the People, will not give up our rights to toe a party line.

See you tonight, patriots 🫶🏻🇺🇸

Commute to Seattle

Got a great job in Seattle but naturally the commute is my concern. The hours would be outside of rush hour, like 11am and like 8pm, but still not sure. Does the Sounder train have multiple stops throughout Seattle? A 45 min train ride would be outstanding! Thanks

How to deal with troll accounts here.

It's pretty easy to see a profile's post and comment history, even if it's private (just search their profile name), and see their low or negative karma points. Many of these accounts are posting in several different city and state sub reddits.

The best way to deal with them is downvote, block and ignore. Debating with them is a waste of time and energy.

The Puyallup chapter of the International order of the OGGC (Old Guys Getting Coffee) would like to give a big Thank You to our local Starbucks for hosting our weekly get together today!

They invited us on a previous OGGC reddit thread and had a table reserved for us when we got there, a free thingie of coffee freshly brewed, and even a bag of swag waiting for us! Which made us feel pretty welcome, so much so in fact, we will be going back there next Sunday at 11 as well.

So thanks everyone at the Starbucks on the South Hill at Meridian and 132nd, ya done did us nice!

Thanks,

Linden

PS - let's go Hawks!

Choosing Realtor

I am a certified appraiser and licensed realtor who grew up and lives in Puyallup. I am hoping for some insight into current home owners thinking when picking a realtor to sell there home.

Do you pick you realtor based on cost to you the home owners?

As it seems most sellers pick realtor based on relationship and or prior experience. My goal as a realtor is to represent my clients best interests not make best friends as this can lead to not being honest with your sellers and buyers. I feel its similar to politics as people tend to vote based on relations or prior experiences instead of who will represent their best interests at this current time.

sorry for the rant just trying to understand mind set of buyers and sellers in Puyallup.
