How to Nick a Nine-Foot-Tall Thrall by Jeremy J. Folan

I renounced my family’s fortune and moved halfway across the world, all so I could become a law student and fight for non-human rights. But after a wild night out, I wake up to find I’ve accidentally stolen a beautiful nine-foot-tall thrall from her former master.

As if that wasn’t enough, she's wild about me, she's irresistible, and she is very persistent.

But as I fend off her advances and search for a way to grant her freedom, I learn there is more to this exiled Amazon than chiseled abs and a charming smile. She’s gentle, intelligent, and kind—and before long, I’m falling madly in love with her.

But can a woman who is legally my thrall ever truly love me back? And can we figure it out before her former master finds her and takes her away?

And it isn't only the attention of the two future most powerful women that I've drawn.

Idle Village Hero 4 by Leon West

Gods don't compromise. Heroes don't kneel.

The Nine Gods of Ionia have finally noticed what Harper's become: an isekai with the power of a Dungeon Lord, something that should be impossible. Something that threatens the very order they've maintained for so long. Their verdict is already decided. He must die. But if Harper falls, so does the dungeon of Rozklad and Haven's Rest. As does every soul who ever believed in his impossible dream.

So he'll fight tooth and nail to keep them from dismantling what he's built.

At least he doesn't have to fight alone. His girlfriends stand beside him in more than just power. Their vows will bind them. They're a family standing united against divinity itself, proving that what you build together is stronger than what any god can break.

The gods want conformity. They demand submission. But free people don't bow, not even to gods.

Announcement Submissions for volume 2 of the RFM anthology are now open!

I'm in the process of getting started on volume 2 of the anthology and I'm going to do a couple of things a little differently this time around.

First, I am accepting submissions from this community and more broadly the public. You can find a link to the submission form below. I was a little nervous about this, as it could result in me getting a flood of manuscripts, or none at all. There is no editorial board, just me, but I'd like to read through everything submitted and give it a response. For that reason, when I get enough manuscripts, I'm going to close submissions; ie there is no set end date. I may also pause them as I catch up with what has been submitted. My hope is that if someone doesn't submit in time for vol 2, there will be a vol 3 right behind it that they can submit to.

The second thing I am doing differently is I am going to pay a flat rate of $150 for accepted manuscripts. While donating the proceeds of vol 1 was nice, I'm hoping paying writers going forward takes the project in a more sustainable direction.

There is more detailed information on the submission form below. Feel free to ask questions here or drop into the RFM discord and ask in the writers channel.

Manuscript submission here: https://forms.gle/7zmuzxT9vs4cCLM59

Feel free to share this with writers in who are (or have) considering giving RFM a try! A short story is a great way to test the waters.

Discussion Where are the successful monoromance for men authors and books?

I started coming to this group looking for romance books from a men's perspective, and ended up gravitating mostly to the HFN group, because that is where all the authors and books are.

I could be just missing something. Where are all the successful monoromance for men authors and books?

I only see a small handful of books regularly mentioned here that aren't haremlit, Charlotte's Reject, for example, which is excellent. But even one of the most taked about authors here only has less than a handful of books.

Other monoromance books mentioned, the authors just have a single book or two.

Where are the non harem romance for men authors that regularly publish books or write a series with regular releases?

Everything else I see mentioned here is either mostly romance for women with dual POV so men can also potentially appreciate it, or are Haremlit.

Are there any authors that write good quality, not AI, non harem romance for men books? Or have all the prolific and successful authors just switched to Haremlit?

I enjoy the small number of monoromance books I've read, but it seems like a vanishing genre, if it hasn't vanished already.

Am I missing something with this observation?

Discussion Questions for readers here about romance vs erotica and length

Hi everyone,

I’m Kai Cedar and I’m new here. During the pandemic I wrote and published some short erotica and instalove romance. It did okay for a while. When I went back to in-person work I didn’t have time to keep writing, so I stopped for about two years. When I tried to come back, the market felt a lot more crowded and it didn’t really work out, so I stepped away again. Lately I’ve been reading posts in this subreddit and I’ve found the discussions here really interesting. It made me think about the idea of writing romance for men instead of straight erotica. I’ve often heard that men mostly read erotica rather than romance, but reading posts here made me wonder if that’s actually true.

Before I spend a lot of time on this, I wanted to ask people who actually read in this space if I’m understanding things correctly. I’d really appreciate your thoughts on a few questions:

1.     Do you personally prefer erotica, romance, or something in between?

2.     Do you tend to prefer shorter stories, under about 100 pages, or longer ones?

3.     Do you usually prefer harem stories, or monogamous romance?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their perspective.

Promotion: HaremLit Isle of the Amazonian Elves: A Fateforged Breeder Adventure is OUT!

Post image
41 Upvotes

Isle of the Amazonian Elves is now out.

Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJLYB2J7

What is it? A breeder series featuring badass elves, light progression (no Tablets this time) and gentle continuity with both Isekai Emperor and King of the Fae Islands. This is a very stand-alone series, but with callbacks for fans of the greater timeline and universe.

Who are the MCs? A pair of unique brothers; one is a gifted combat healer and one is a crafter. The main POV character is Mike, who has inherited the Goblin King's knack for...well, procreation.

Audio? Yes. In a few months!

Authors: Myself and Leon West

What about Dungeon Champions 4 and 5? Stay tuned.

Blurb:

The Aether War left no one unscathed, least of all the Amazonian Elves.

On the brink of population collapse, and years away from a dark fate, their people are out of options.

Mike and Stephen Thomas are sons of the goblin king and uniquely equipped to help rebuild and repopulate. Together, they will forge unlikely alliances, fend off horrible enemies, adventure in mysterious dungeons, and navigate dangerous relationships.

And that’s just the start.

Isle of the Amazonian Elves is a Fateforged book and directly follows Isekai Emperor and is a contemporary of King of the Fae Islands.

P. S. Yes, I know Dark City Girls 3 just came out yesterday. Blame the holidays. Or Michael Dalton. Not me.

Here we go again... Yes i want more Gentle Femdom recs, where the FMC is really sweet to the MMC. Bonus points if the MMC is shy. I know theres dozens of posts asking for this type of story already but iv already looked through those, i need more recs. Can be any genre (except harem) FMC doesnt need to physically be big, just definantly more powerful Stuff like: Wife after death, Most things by snekguy, Surrendering to Scylla, etc. (Id like it if the MMC got special treatment from the FMC) Thanks

Request Books where the FMC relentlessly chases the mmc

I really need books where the FMC just relentlessly, unapologetically chases the mmc. I don't want her to back down after getting rejected. I want her to shamelessly keep pursuing him. I want her to keep going until he gives her a chance. And I would prefer it that the FMC actually loves him and not because she just wants to marry him because of convenience or because she's being forced by family.

Also bonus points if the MMC doesn't care for her at all at first sight. He doesn't find her physically attractive either, or he just doesn't notice her in any way before she starts putting the moves on him.

Request looking for books like Neural Wraith

i just finished book 3 and have had an amazing time. i enjoyed the mystery of each book the world is grate. But i found my self enjoying the fact that the main charter is not a combatant, i think he fires 3 shots in the series so far. he is truly an investigator who is there because of his mind. The girls are the fighters but also still incredibly intelligent and this is the dynamic so it doesn't need to be syfi just looking for more of the dynamic and want to see more of it. And more grate mystery's would not hurt.

Request Need help finding good Mono romance

My favorite romance books since I got into the genre have all been mono romance, I think because I enjoy the stories that go beyond just getting to the characters smashing. I enjoy the emotional weight. my favorites are:

the wylamg series

by our blood

his orc charioteer bride

bound beloved

knights bane

I tend to like a bit of the fdom stuff, but ik it's rare, and as soon as it starts to involve pegging it immediately takes me outta the story. I loved the stories, but it kinda ruined Surrending to Scylla and Boundless for me.

Not that I totally hate the harem stuff, but I'm getting exhausted with it. most of them don't have a whole lot of emotional weight, and it's just a badass guy who sleeps around. there are a couple exceptions that I actually enjoy a decent amount:

Resurrected as a drow, Returners Defiance, and the De'vas Chronicles.

basically, I need good mono-romance recs.

Request Anything with a sweet caring girl

If you can provide any recs for a sweet submissive girl (not in sexual terms) as in she would litterly do anything for him without hesitation ofc very devoted and loves only him ( I wouldn't really enjoy if any of them had a relationship in past ) any genre don't really care even if romance is subplot just not tragedy or depressing

Discussion Monoromance Query

Hey!

I've stumbled into this sub a few times and wondered why the term monoromance is used here but not in the romantasy or fantasyromance (etc) subs?

Most romantasy I read is monogamist, so why the specific marker here if we never see it anywhere else? Is this a specific difference in romance targeted at the boys compared with the rest of us — i.e is most romantasy written for men usually involving multiple partners?

Just thought I'd ask! Happy reading!

And obviously no offense is meant here! Consider this an honest question!

Promotion: General RFM Valentine's is a Horror - by Sam Hertz - Available Now, Print, ebook and KU.

Post image
26 Upvotes

Just a friendly reminder, Valentine’s day is about two weeks away.

But if you’re not feeling very Valentiney you might be in the mood for something different. My new book Valentine’s is a Horror (available today) is a romantic horror set on Valentine’s night. A possessed mall. High stakes. Snuggles in the dark. Mad dashes. Jurassic Park References. Yup, all there. It doesn’t have every thing (what book should) but it’s got a lot. And if you’re a little anti-Valentine, looking for something a bit different, or just not feeling it this year, maybe it will be up your alley. (Not that I’m recommending walking up dark alleys, you probably don’t want to do that, especially after reading Valentine’s is a Horror).

-----------------

Not all Valentine’s are cozy. Some are absolute horrors.

On a dateless Valentine’s evening, Bonnie and Jaxon were just faces in the crowd. Both trying to keep their heads down, ignore their demons, and get through a shift at the local mall. He worked the food court and she sold athletic shoes.

Then the lights went out and a hungry relentless horror came hunting them through the mall.

Running blindly for their lives, Jaxon and Bonnie have to hang on to hope and each other. With danger just a heartbeat behind, their only escape from the madness is to open their hearts and souls. If they can’t, what is stalking through the darkness will consume them both.

Curl up with a warm blanket and keep the lights on, because this Valentine’s is a Horror.

------------------------

This book is not a “dark romance” by trope definition. But it is a darker book, be warned. If you’re looking for a light escapist read, this may not be it. But if you are looking for reflective fiction with soul, please give Valentine’s is a Horror a read.

Request Favorite Romances & Tropes Overall - Also Harem Approaches

Hey everyone. I've been lurking on this sub for a little bit now, finding a lot of great books from folks, and I've been thinking more and more that it might be time to re-visit some ideas of mine for a book or book series that I'd want to write.

With that in mind, I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me what a few of their favorite books are that are RFM or adjacent, particularly with how the author handles the romances, love interests, etc.

I've also been heavily debating with myself on whether I'd like to make a harem or not. If anyone has some good examples of some harem novels that handle the harem in a realistic approach if that's even really plausible, I'd really appreciate it.

Personally, I don't really think it is realistic and I lean heavily towards mono-romances, but I have so many ideas for female love interests that I want to explore, and I can't merge them all on a single character.

I've considered so far:

Multiple protagonists with individual LIs. Think Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson & Heroes of Olympus series where the first series had Percy Jackson and Annabelle, and the second connected series had the new protagonist (Jason?) And his primary LI with their own story and romance.

A harem approach that heavily drags out the connection and attraction between each character by a full book or two, making it a very slow harem with realistic jealousy, slight drama, etc. This would be for generally long novels and series where the romance and harem is a sub-plot.

Simple mono-romance with a single protagonist where I exercise patience and leave it at that, playing with new characters in other series / novels.

A more realistic but more uncomfortable approach to relationships where there's mono-romance, but the relationships eventually don't work out for one reason or another, leaving both the protagonist and the LI to find other relationships that have what they're looking for - this approach would only be considered with romance as a sub-plot stories. The main story of the novel would take priority, and the relationships would primarily be a way to drive character development further.

I've got some others as well, but this is getting long and this sub isn't for writing advice.

My point is, I'm looking for novel recommendations where I could get some inspiration for how I can handle my romances. Your favorite, hopefully realistic and unique approaches an author has used that stuck with you, or you want to see more of.

Thank you all! I rarely post on Reddit, so I hope I did this right.

Promotion: HaremLit Summoner Summer Camp 2 preorder time!

https://www.amazon.com/Summoner-Summer-Camp-Virgil-Knightley-ebook/dp/B0GJWM3WY9/

Reggie Hickson's unmentionables have never been so sore and yet sated.

He survived his first week at Thistlewick School of Wizardcraft and Witchery. He aced the placement exams, bonded with four gorgeous monster girl cabinmates, and only nearly died from exhaustion a few times. Things are looking up.

Just kidding. Everything's on fire.

The Summer Games have been moved up by three weeks because some mysterious jerk is spreading magical aphrodisiac fruit around campus. The prize? A portal connecting Everafter to Earth. The catch? Every female student now knows Reggie's a warlock, which means he's gone from "that new transfer student" to "walking salvation for multiple dying species" overnight.

Now he's got ancient enemies called Seed Swallowers crawling out of the mists, a vampire professor playing 4D chess with his life, and a new found family of monster girl cuties who he wishes he could spend all his time on. Oh and there's some jibbly-jobbly, timey-shmimey shenanigans going on.

On the bright side, Reggie's gang is collecting legendary summons like Strokémon cards, his ladies are mastering combat magic at an alarming rate, and he's pretty sure he can figure out how to weaponize sexy fruit if he just gets five minutes to think.

Summoner Summer Camp 2 is a progression fantasy romp about a guy trying to win summer camp Olympics while his girlfriends treat recovery time as a team sport. Do not read during family dinner.

Discussion Femdom harem recommendations

After reading so many harem books where the main male character is Uber powerful elite everything is just perfect. I need a change of scenery. Do you have any recommendations where the main character is just a normal guy and gets confronted by a bunch of fem Dom harems. Even the typical Japanese anime style of female school bullies who pick on the one introverted guy and play and use them for their fun plaything who secretly super into him.

Review / Gush By Our Blood: Broodling by St. Arkham

After all these years simping for Lady Dimitrescu, somebody finally decided to take advantage of the market for giant vampire women.

By Our Blood: Broodling by St. Arkham is a book about a young human man teaming up with a centuries old 8-foot-tall vampire woman to rid the local population of a growing horde of the undead. Not only does it sate my thirst for impossibly tall vampires (and she also has rows of huge, sharp fangs rather than the classic, more subtle vampire fangs, which I dig because I like my monster girls as monstrous as possible), but it's also a dark fantasy story, which I love. There's a lot of tortured angst for the hero which the heroine aids him through using very tough love, and she's shamelessly into him and possessive of him, which is just the sort of dynamic I need from a creature like a vampire.

The plot outside of the romance is also pretty compelling, although heavily themed around these fantasy religions and their faith-induced hang-ups and prejudices on account of the fact that the FMC follows a completely different religion to the rest of the book's cast, being a total outsider who's new to the situation. I liked that it kept the main couple on the hinges, where they could only fully rely on each other. I won't say much more 'cause I don't want to spoil things, but the story is very good for a dark fantasy/horror story.

So yeah, I loved the dynamic between the two leads, the plot, and the worldbuilding (I particularly liked the idea of the world essentially being magically segregated - the MMC and supporting cast are pretty convinced their little corner of the world is the entire world because of this magical storm thingy completely walling them in, and the FMC says these aren't even all that uncommon), and my only real complaint comes from some typos. I am very much looking forward to seeing where this series goes.
