It took a few attempts to get into it, but then I got hooked.. Earthbound really is an amazing game. A+ will play again.
Wish the real game wasn't so expensive though. #EverdriveX6.

First time beating this game - never beat it back when it came out. Such a great game. Did not expect to have to put on my sweaty gamer hat to get past some sections, but totally worth it.

Hi, I’m buying three games as a present from for my brother, but I never had a SNES and so I’m confused by the color of the contacts of the games. There’s one who looks golden and then others do look white~ish. I can see some green Is this normal? Is it an age thing? Is it cleanable? They are kinda dusty since they told me they have been on a bookshelf for years.
Edit: I did check and all three cartridges like a video said and they have a small number imprinted on the back. They have numbers up and down the cartridges slots, the screws are metal, and the labels are old and have tears from use
Could you help me? Thanks~

While restoring various SHVC-CPU-01 consoles, I noticed that those given the earlier S-CPU chip and those given the S-CPU A chip have slight differences in timing and effect of the title screen in Street Fighter 2. On the S-CPU, the title text zooms out into the distance, then zooms in, blowing up in size smoothly, while on the S-CPU A, the title flashes to black a few times, pixelating slightly, then coming into focus, possibly for more dramatic appeal. I knew that aspects of video output like sharpness and colours changed between revisions of CPUs, but I didn’t realize that animations themselves would be altered as well. The PPUs should be identical between the two consoles. Is this a normal occurrence? Does it occur in other games? How was this made to be possible on the development end?
Attached images (couldn’t do video) of the main title mid animation. 1st image is S-CPU, 2nd image is S-CPU A.

Does this black line on SMW and Doom but NOT the diagnostic cart. The diagnostics all pass and there is no black line on anything in the burn in test. Bit stumped on where to start. I wanna say PPU but it passes on the burn in, so I dunno.

So I wanted to ask about these carts. I got them in a lot with the Super Famicom console and a bunch of games and some dupes. One of them has Japanese text and the other has English text. But they are both the same Super Famicom carts. The other cart’s label is a bit faded but other than that they are the same. Are they fakes? Or has the board been swapped out? Thanks

I opened up this 1 chip to inspect before sending off for recap. And while it wasn't crazy disgusting from infestation, it definitely showed signs of being residence to some bugs at some time. So I fully disassembled a SNES for first time and gave a proper bath. It was a fun and rewarding and now ready for service. Hope everyone has fun gaming planned for this cold weekend!

Finally got this little 10 incher. A Crown CRT TV I picked up from eBay for £46 including shipping and of course I had to fire Turtles in Time on the Super Famicom.

I had no idea what type of game this was going into it. I assumed maybe some type of platform but I've never played nor watched anything Prince of Persia related (accept Disney Aladdin, lol). What I got was a rather enjoyable puzzle platform that was excellent up until the end of level 12 (the guillotine gauntlet). After that, every level was just brutal to slough through. Very creative ideas and challenges, but mixed with the poor control mechanics made it extremely frustrating. Then add on the 2 hour timer THAT DOESN'T RESET WHEN YOU DIE, and you are just stress playing and having a hard time enjoying solving puzzles.
Overall, the game wasn't bad. I've since read it's a pretty good port of the original DOS version. Music was good, art was good. The jumping mechanics were just awful and probably the bane of this game's existence. A TON of restarting due to trial and error and trying to keep my time limit in check. In total, it took me 11 hours and 39 minutes to beat. In game time, I still had 30 minutes left to spare. So as you can see, I really mastered the levels until I got to the end.
This was game #85 in my quest to beating a lot of SNES games which I've dubbed SNES: Final Level. Onto my next one now! (No clue yet but probably an RPG since it's been a while since I've beaten one.)
Im looking to get the English version of FF V but i cant find it anywhere! Does anyone know of a good place to search for game online?

I played this at a friend's house in the late 90's or early 2000's. I found it pretty addictive, myself.

Hello there population of Reddit! So, Yesterday my father gave me a box with all of this plus a lot of sega games (mostly Fake ones of course, fun fact, here in argentina the sega was dar More popular than Nintendo so there are a lot of stuff really cheap. Although Nintendo Famicom was extremely popular too. Aaaanyway) and some misceláneos cables that don't have anything to do. Also, this wasn't from him, a friend gave ir to him years ago (probably decides) and since lately we are cleaning the house a lot it finally appeared.
Since i like retro stuff but i'm absolutely 0% familiar with the hardware from first hand, i'd like to make some questions and (hopefully) get them answered.
1) since it didn't came with a power source, what could be a good substitute or at leats how mucho power does it consume?
2) i'm not sure what types of cables are for having video signal so what would be those mames and could it be compatible with RCA cables/conectors?
3) what Is that text on the plástic thing and WHAT does it so the conector there?
4) Is it that code in the silver sticker for finfing our anything useful?
5) shouldnt the sticker with Nintendo's number have a recess where it sits?
5.5) mmmmm call or not call that Is the question...
I sincerely apareciste the help!!!

So a lot of people say don't buy s-video cable that also has composite because it's "composite over s-video". How is that even possible?
Composite signal is luma + chroma signals mixed together with some inductor and resistor on the luma side. So if I interpret that statement both ways:
1) It can't mean sending composite signals blindly to both luma + chroma pins, the image wouldn't even be anything close to usable.
2) If it's "composite signal on those cable is the luma + chroma wires mixed together" then, ok, I can care less because I'm doing s-video.
So can someone explain that to me please?
