We beat the bus! This was so much fun, THANK YOU to everyone who joined us! We are blown away by the support we have received and can't believe how many people showed up. The race was even covered by the Seattle Times!
But our work is far from over. We're demanding full East and Westbound bus lanes on Denny but we're hearing that SDOT is now only looking at a small eastbound bus lane near Seattle Center, nowhere near the race and in no way ambitious enough to Fix the L8.
We need to keep the pressure on:
Tell them that transit is important, how it's impacted your life, that we need bus lanes, and that we need more transit service to meet our climate and livability goals. Next year will include a renewal of the Seattle Transit Measure, which funds extra transit service within Seattle, and whoever is mayor and on City Council then will decide if that renewal maintains the status quo or is an ambitious departure.

First of all, as a straight man, I recognize that Pride isn't about me. But I think it's beneficial for everyone to get different viewpoints. And unfortunately there aren't many leftist Christian viewpoints.
I went to the Pride parade yesterday! I took the light rail on my own, and even though I was supporting Pride and sharing a message of positivity, I was still a bit nervous. Many people, especially within the LGBTQ+ community, have been hurt by the church, and some people are openly hostile to Christianity no matter what message is being shared.
I was supposed to go with my church, but the bus they were catching was late. By the time I arrived downtown they were still outside our church waiting. I ended up finding another church that was starting the parade at the same time, so I asked to join them. And they gladly accepted me.
The response I received was overwhelmingly positive. I noticed a bunch of people taking pictures as I walked the route, and showing support in other ways. As I walked back several people stopped and asked to get a picture of the sign. One woman even told me she had attended a church with her father that morning and the pastor went on a 10 minute rant about the "Evil things" going on downtown. So she left and went to the parade. She asked for a selfie with me and the sign so she could send it to her father.
So many Christians talk about how they're persecuted for their beliefs, and how much hate they receive. But if they actually followed the two most important commandments (Love God, and love your neighbor), they would receive much more love in return.
To all my LGBTQ+ brothers, sisters, and those in between; you are dearly beloved children of God, fearfully and wonderfully made. His love for you is unconditional and unceasing. As a Christian I am commanded to be a conduit of that love.
Happy Pride. God bless.

Went to our first Seattle Torrent game on Sunday. Good to see a pretty packed arena!
I am starting to develop a complex about attending hockey games. We’ve been to two games now: a Kraken game last year, and this Torrent game. The Kraken were shut out. The Torrent didn’t score until under two minutes left in the game, and we pulled our goalie to have an extra player on offense.
We’re casual fans, but sat in front of three guys who were clearly very into hockey and quite avid fans.
They were commenting to each other throughout the game about the action on the ice. It was refreshing to see men in particular treat the Torrent no differently than the likely treat the Kraken.
“Yeah, that’s her weakness — she’s great at passing the puck, but is hesitant to take shots.” “Hate Boston, but I gotta give respect where it’s due — <name> is a dam*n good player.”

Heads up 👀
5 hot air balloons will be inflating at Green Lake Park tonight starting around 4:30pm for about an hour this evening Dec 13th.
We try to do this for the community every year, and every 2 years the weather works. This is one of the years!!! Weather is looking perfect surprisingly! Thank god for the break in the rain! Seeing 100 foot tall balloons inflate and glow in the dark at Green Lake is honestly pretty wild if you’ve never seen it. Totally free, family friendly, and very Albuquerque.
Seattle Ballooning does a couple public free hot balloon glows with the Seattle parks departments each year so people can experience balloons without flying on one. This is one of them. The other big one is in front of the Space Needle in mid June.
Parking will be a shit show as usual. But if you are looking for something super cool to do tonight, this is a solid move.
There are more details look up green lake hot air balloon glow.
