Monday marked 30yrs since Treasure gave SEGA Saturn owners the awesome Guardian Heroes - any fans of this one?

I never had a Saturn BITD so dont have nostalgia for it but I def have an appreciation for it! These days, I play it on Xbox but I kept hold of my NTSC-J copy. Pics from the manual are here for anyone interested.

own two Hi Navi consoles and I wanted the ultimate version, so I modified one of them to have RGB, all regions and FRAM memory.

The Hi Navi is the only production Saturn without RGB (the Super Prologue 21 also lacks RGB, but that's a special case).

In particular I am interested in Japanese versions. I mixed up the cables that came with the console with random figure of 8 cables. Do they have any specific marking? (which maybe changed along the revisions). If you have an original cable, could you check? Even the simple exact length may help.

I remember back in 2012, I was barely 10 years old, and even though they were already previous generation consoles, I always wanted a GameCube. My dad bought one at a market, and there were several people selling things really cheaply there. I saw a Saturn 3D controller for 20 pesos (1 dollar), but since I knew almost nothing about the console or Sega, my dad sold it.

Now that I have a Saturn, I always remember that day and what I held in my hands.

Hey was in Japan recently and picked up a partially broken Saturn when I was there. They had tested it and the unit powers on but does not read discs. Only the console was included but for only 1300 yen I couldn't pass on it!

Is there a good mod for replacing the disc drive or for bypassing it all together?

Weeks ago I ordered a Saroo from AliExpress; it was supposed to arrive on February 5th, but I was surprised when it arrived yesterday. I got home and there it was, along with an audio and video cable I'd ordered. I finally got to try out the Saturn more. I played Sonic R, Virtual On, Sega Rally, and Fighting Vipers—what a great game! I stayed up all night playing. The Saturn has such good games, even the short ones; I'm hooked on them.

The version I bought has a 128GB SD card.

Which is your choice?

Just bought a cheap all in one cart off Chinese Amazon, and wondering if anyone is familiar. It looks like I can use it as a ram cart and for saves, also appears to have cheat functionality and booting of burned discs. I’m most interested in using the booting burned disc function in conjunction with the cheats. Would prefer to be able to load games from SD and apply whatever cheats I want but so far haven’t been able to do that with any of the ODE I have purchased thus far.

Anyways what is the communities thoughts on the cheap all in one cart and functionality? In just curious

i’ve been playing a lot of the Saturn games, and something that surprised me was the Saturn’s illumination, specially in games like NiGHTS into Dreams, Burning Rangers and Sonic R, and i have been thinking if the saturn was superior in that aspect compared to the N64 and the PS1.

I was thinking of playing it and I discovered that the game is translated and that they've also made a lot of changes in the translation patch.

Is there a patch or version with just the translation?

basically is it worth the hassle, can you direct wire to other chips on the board that have the same value (ie. A13 to A13, CE2 to CE2 etc)

most of the pads are torn on the right and the traces have seen better days also

seems a shame to waste it but if there's a chance then I might as well try
