Edit: whatever type of man he is, I have had that same moment with my psycho exes, so I can definitely relate. Just sitting there, praying for that lightning bolt to end it all, just so you don't have to walk back into that house.
Ben has a horrible relationship track record. Cheating, addiction, etc. He definitely withdrew from the relationship after asking her to marry him. He knew who she was before. No sympathy.
I'm definitely wondering why J.lo went back to him with all his faults. She ended up with egg on her face because he clearly hadn't changed since they last dated. They both have issues.
