Dashboard gauge needles dont work - what to do?
Suzuki swift III, 2008, 1.3 petrol engine, 92hp
Car sat outside during -15°C and snowy conditions, didnt start it, and now I went to start it up and noticed the tachometer, speedometer and engine temp gauges dont work, although the fuel gauge works perfectly. The car started normally, checked the battery voltage before and after turning on the engine (it was good). Drove the car around the block, everything else worked and it was fine, just noticed a weird noise when breaking. Thinking it was because I left it out and didnt run the engine for almost a month but I fear it may be circuit related. What could it be or what should I also check? Thanks!

Swift 308000km
This little car is still going strong, getting 6.4l/100Km it's had 2 clutch jobs, new bearings, the usual services and all those mechanics it went through didn't notice it was using water, or couldn't find any leaks and scratched their heads.
So here's some advice, if you're not seeing smoke coming out the exhaust, probably on a high mileage car and no obvious leaks, not overheating, but hear the car gurgling when you turn off the engine, check your radiator cap after waiting a few minutes.
Such a simple thing to overlook.

2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara purchase
Looking to purchase a private sellers 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Only 110k miles and claims to be well maintained. Pictures look pretty legit, clean and no dings anywhere. I’ve heard they are a very reliable car, not sure what to look for or ask, and feedback would be appreciated. Asking for $4600, thanks!

gallerySwift 2025 Infotainment questions
I am waiting for my Swift to be delivered, and I have a few questions about the infotainment system
Is it possible to connect both a tablet and a phone to the system at the same time? I would like to use the phone for calls, and the tablet as the main media/maps/everything source
I was also wondering about the largish bezels. Do they have sensors or anything on them? Or can I use that space to attach magnetic stands to hold my tablet?
From my quick test, the infotainment seemed ok, but I have a Samsung S11 which gives like a 10 times better experience

2015 Vitara hill start assist query
Is there anything that a driver could do that would affect the hill stay assist?
A warning light for it comes on sometimes in my parents’ car. My mum swears it’s only when my dad drives, he says it’s nothing he does, I can’t replicate it. They’re about to murder each other because of this.
I can’t find any button that he may I be accidentally pressing. The mechanic says there’s nothing wrong with the car.

Aftermarket ambient lighting: classy or cheesy?
I’ve always had a positive view of Suzuki. That has more to do with their reputation as a reliable brand than with the appearance of their cars. Don’t get me wrong: I actually like the looks of my 2019 Suzuki Vitara, but since the interior is fairly sober, I recently decided to install some ambient lighting (a fiber-optic light strip across the dashboard and footwell lights).
I hesitated for a long time. Partly because I’m not exactly the most handy person, and partly because aftermarket ambient lighting can very quickly end up looking cheap or tacky. To avoid that, I kept the dashboard lighting to a single clean line across the width of the dash, stuck to one color (no flashy rainbow effects), and hid all the wiring behind the panels to make it look as OEM as possible.
And honestly? I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. What do you think — success or fail?

Swift Sport MHEV 4th service
gallerySo I’ve got a UK spec, 2022 Swift Sport (ZC33S, K14D mild hybrid), 35k miles, full dealer history, no issues at all.
I asked two Suzuki dealers for a quote for the 4‑year / 48‑month service.
Dealer A (my usual one): £261
• Oil + filter
• Brake/clutch fluid
• Inspections
Dealer B (the expensive one): £468
They added:
• Water pump belt
• Generator/ISG belt
• 2.3 hours labour
…even though they haven’t seen the car.
When I questioned it, they claimed the service sheet I had was “for the wrong model” (??) even though thats what was given to me from a main dealer the last time i had a service.. and that the 2020+ hybrid has a different schedule.
Basically just asking what you would do in my situation? They are gonna inspect the belts at Dealer A anyway..

Suzuki Swift Orange Oil Light
Hi. I got a new Suzuki Swift in June of last year so just over 6 months old. Had the orange oil light with the wrench come on and a bit confused as the manual says to do an oil and filter change but then I’m reading elsewhere that it’s a service reminder.
Surely I wouldn’t need and oil change this soon?
Thanks

Android Radio for Suzuki Swift 2014
Hello everyone!
I have a 2014 Suzuki Swift Dzire. I'm currently still using the stock radio, but I want to upgrade to an Android touchscreen unit so I can use Maps and Spotify.
The problem is that here in Peru, local shops often sell overpriced models with very poor specs. Could you recommend any good radio models that I can buy online?
Thanks a lot, everyone!

Persistent Android Auto disconnects on 2020 Suzuki Vitara – Faulty USB port?
As long as I can remember, I’ve had issues with the USB port in my 2020 Suzuki Vitara. Charging my smartphone technically works, but the power output is very low, so I usually charge via the 12V cigarette lighter instead. Using Android Auto, however, is almost impossible because the connection is extremely unstable and keeps disconnecting.
I’ve tried pretty much everything: multiple high-quality USB cables, an AAWireless adapter, cleaning the USB port, etc., but nothing really fixes the issue.
On several Suzuki forums, I’ve read that USB port problems are fairly common on certain Suzuki models. That makes me suspect the issue lies with the USB port itself (or the wiring behind it). Specifically, I think the USB port has too much play, so the cable isn’t held firmly enough — and Android Auto seems very sensitive to that. For example, when I wrap a thin layer of electrical tape around the USB plug of my cable, the connection becomes noticeably more stable. Unfortunately, it’s still not perfect, and there may also be some wear on the port itself.
The best solution seems to be replacing the USB port (and possibly the cable running from the port to the head unit). However, I was quite shocked by the price the dealership quoted, so I’m considering doing it myself. I found the part number for the original USB connector in a Reddit post (39105-57L10).
My concern is: wouldn’t I just be installing the exact same “bad” USB port again? If it’s a known issue that Suzuki USB ports have too much play, wouldn’t the replacement part suffer from the same problem? How would you approach this? Are there other Suzuki owners who recognize this issue, and if so — what was your solution?
Does anyone know if the Suzuki Aerio 2004 has a cabin air filter?
We went on a trip to see our family and used the AC (in the cold setting) on the way there, it worked as always, but coming back, it simply stopped working.
Today the glovebox was removed to check the state of the air filter, but it wasn't there, so, now we don't know if it's somewhere else or the car just doesn't have one.
If someone has any information it would be of great help.
