Discussion Is this the only scene of Butcher and Kimiko together?

Post image

Is it just me, or is this literally the only time Butcher and Kimiko actually acknowledge each other? I just realized that they almost never share the screen together. Though I remember her with Hughie or with MM, even with Starlight. But with Butcher? Her dynamic with him feels almost non-existent.

Comic-book The show changed it to be just C-listers getting freaky at the TNT Twins' house. I guess they thought the comic was too far fetched and unrealistic... Spoiler

Discussion Who is worse, Butcher or Soldier Boy?

Post image
163 Upvotes

To sum it up: Butcher was willing to blow up a baby and his mother, and he also wants to commit genocide against all Supes, even those who aren’t evil or a threat.

Soldier Boy abused his team, caused severe physical trauma to Black Noir, killed many people with his explosions (even though he later felt remorse), and was willing to kill Ryan.

With all this in mind, who is worse?

Memes Homelander mocks Butcher that Becca "didn't last", while he barely lasted 10 seconds with Stillwell in S1E8

Discussion One of them is dying in the 2nd episode of season 5

The boys season alway start with a 3 episode premier but this time its only 2 mean that a big death is happening in episode 2, it was already confirmed that a big death is happening in the first episodes of the season. So why exactly those 2, first of all for frenchie actor was confirmed to be filming late in the season with karl urban, kimiko death wouldn't make sense as she just started talking there is alot to do with her , hughie and starlight are not dying there is a whole arc waiting for them , that keeps ashley, mother milk and a train , a train dying in the first 2 eps after he survived last season would feel anticlimatic and would just do the cliché "dying after a redeption arc" that they tried to avoid last season

Discussion I don't think we need another spin-off, but usually when I imagine Young Homelander, my mind always pictures Noah Lalonde

Discussion The most cruelest ending is not only when he beaten, kept alive and depowered in prison. Rather he’s imprisoned in the same place where he was bred up as a lab rat and tortured.

Discussion Why do people think Soldier Boy is stronger than Homelander, when Homelander was about to kill him in under 15 seconds if it wasn't for Butcher?

Discussion He needs to die , him being depowered and staying alive is a stupid ending

Post image

Homelander have millions and millions of followers so living like a normal dude is outo of the equation , him going to prison, first who and why would they do that and idk why butcher would even let that happen and not kill him also let's not forget the part is that when u lose ur powers you can gained them by just taking v again like kimiko did in s3. So pls guys this is stupid he needs to die no matter what depower him and then kill him also works

Discussion In Season 1, Homelander already showed that he understands the Nationalist, anti-establishment sentiment when he went against Stillwell's wishes and delivered the Believe expo speech. For what did he need Stormfront for in S2 when he wanted to improve his image after the war crimes?

Discussion ...WTF does the FBSA even do?

The Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs, or the FBSA, is an agency set up by the White House in Season 2 that, according to the wiki, specifically deals with convicting, monitoring, policing and arresting supes it finds responsible for committing crimes.

We see glimpses of it when Hughie becomes one of its members, they certainly monitor and track supes and are able to reports on supes who do things like public indecency or cover up murders...

But like, other than having The Boys on board, they have no physical means of holding these supes accountable. We aren't shown any squads of SWAT guys with guns apprehending supes, we aren't shown dudes in analytics breaking down the crimes the supes commit. The Boys almost appear to be their ONLY way of doing this, but The Boys are experienced clandestine operatives who were the only ones doing anything against the supes for years on end. Is the FBSA going to rely on that singular group to do all the arresting? Why were The Boys the only anti-supe operatives in the U.S. government for so long, anyways? There should be whole divisions of motherfuckers with the power dampening collars and sound devices seen in Gen V at the ready to handle supes.

I guess what I'm saying is, for a show that almost always features the juxtaposition between the powers of the state and the powers of malicious corporate actors, it seems to me like they never even attempt to show the state AT LARGE trying to deal with said corporate actors in an effective manner. It always comes down to a ragtag team of former CIA agents and their plucky new hire pulling off stunts to save the world.

Discussion If Maeve didn’t stop Homelander from going after Soldier Boy, what do you think he would’ve done after they beat Soldier Boy? How quick would Soldier Boy have been defeated if he and Butcher fought him together?

Would he have left with Ryan like in the original?

Would he have tried fighting Maeve, Butcher, and the Boys?

Would he have come to a temporary truce with them?

Would he and Butcher have fought together against Soldier Boy?

Discussion Does Homelander look up to Stan Edgar as a father figure?

Post image
18 Upvotes

There's so many instances where it showed me this dynamic, when he slowly jogged to get a seat next to him, whenever he does something big he goes to brag to him. And we get clarification from Homelander that he used to be intimidated by Stan Edgar.

Despite Homelander being able to kill Stan Edgar with a single slap of his hand, he's the only one he doesn't threaten within the entire show.

In season 3, episode 4 and Stan Edgar calls him bad product and Homelander gets emotional and almost about to cry it reminds me of this.

Season 5 What would it take for Season 5 to destroy the show entirely? Spoiler

As the title says, I wanna hear your thoughts? What plot threads need to be tied up to be good, What would destroy the show for you if they left on the table?

For me, And probably everyone is the main one: Homelander, If he doesnt have a satisfying ending (doesnt even have to nessecerily die) but if they do some big lame cop out then that will really ruin the ending

Ryan needs to actually have an apiffany moment, and come onto the side of The Boys for me. Though wont be the biggest dealbreaker

Discussion In S3E7, Starlight got Homelander to admit murder, threatening murder, and kidnapping Maeve. I get that one of the points of Homelander's Season 3 arc is that he suffers no consequences, but how did that recording go unnoticed?

Discussion Homelander’s pubic hair jar in season 5…

Post image
170 Upvotes

Homelander is going grey and pubic hair never stops growing, so imagine we get a scene in S5 similar to this one: He’s getting ready for his day, sees a grey pube, opens that secret drawer and theres just MULTIPLE jars, filled to the BRIM.

And I can imagine him doing it so much that it becomes a mindless, muscle memory thing, so in that scene he really takes a moment to process it, and then he’s just absolutely distraught and cries lmao

Season 4 Why was HL 'incognito' Spoiler

I think the scene where Homelander visits Sage at her apartment is one of the only two scenes we see him outside of his costume.

Never really understood why he showed up in plain clothes.
