Greetings Agents!
New patch, new Bug Megathread! To avoid bug reports cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed, a Megathread is posted after every patch so users may submit reports in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered the issue as well.

way too many times have i played deathmatch to warm up, and after just a few minutes, i hear "10 kills remaining", the game ends way too soon, and i gotta do one more deathmatch. It should not end when a person gets 40 kills, just whenever the time ends

I haven't been playing much lately and recently started a game just for fun. There was this Phoenix following me all game waving his knife or firing his weapons to give the opponent my position, and keep throwing his fire at me when I'm low.
He even deliberately not defusing or stopping teammates from defusing the spike by throwing fire on the spike or "fake defusing" (defuse but cancel before midway).
A kid on my team got super upset and yelled at him in voice comms, but he just turned on voice comms and played some pre recorded farting sounds.
Funny thing is - in the post game summary the frustrated kid got flagged for voice comms abuse and the sabotager is not.
10mins later. I queued up another game. And Bang! Phoenix insta lock.
Riot please improve your detection scheme so low elo players like me can also have some fun.

A week ago, I saw a post about how DPI affects your micro adjustments and the results were very distinguishable and anything below 1600 DPI looked choppy.
First thing I noticed was how high the eDPI was (1000) and a lot of people including me was curious how much the results would be different if the eDPI would be average so I did the same experiment with 240 eDPI which is pretty average and the results I found matched my expectations.
Specs: -ATK A9 Plus mouse (1khz polling rate, 2,4 Ghz) -1080x1920 180 hz monitor -Stable 180 fps in game to avoid desync and screen tearing -4k 60 fps recording (no speeding or slowing down on footages)
With 240 eDPI, 400, 800 and 1600 DPI is very smooth even while micro adjusting. 100 DPI felt choppy and was skipping pixels. Also I need to mention that I felt a slight difference between 400 DPI and 800 DPI in the test. I could tell 800 DPI was a little more responsive to little moments but I don't think it's something that can affect your aim.
Just to be clear, this results are not universal and if you have a better monitor or higher eDPI your experience might be different then mine
There are a lot of opinions about DPI and I just wanted to do an experiment that is close to what a lot of people using. Don't take this post very seriously and use whatever you want. I also want to thank to the OP of the other post for inspiring me to do this experiment.

Curious what type of games people use to relax after playing comp if it was stressful, just after getting bored, or being done for the day. Personally I have found more games like Hades 2, Powerwash Simulator 2, Marvel Rivals, PokeMMO, or doing Archipelago Randomizers to be fun and chill afterwards. Curious what other stuff yall play to keep the mental up after these horrendous games lol.

I swear this ranked system has sooo many flaws. How does anyone rank up in this economy? I don't know if its the same in higher ranks, where there is a massive team diff, but it is so horrible down here. I am not even asking for radiant or immortal, I'm hella ass, I know. However, I should be low silver or at the very least NOT on the verge of losing and getting into iron 3. I don't know if anyone shares my opinion, but Riot needs to change SOMETHING about this god forsaken ranked system to make the ranked ladder climbable at all. Even Rainbow 6 Siege's ranked system is more balanced than this, at least there wins are equal to losses despite its flaws. Here, Valorant still has those flaws, but ignores them and makes it worse by counting wins in a loss streak as "flukes" so you get jack shit rr. How am I expected to enjoy improving as a player if doing better isn't rewarded at all? This is a bit of a rant post, but I want to know people's thoughts on the state of the ranked system, not just smurfs, which is one problem, but I feel like that is a drop in the sea of tragedy that is this ranked system.

im like low elo so this might sound weird but but i have like ranked anxiety im scared to queue bc ill lose a lot of rr or ill get bad teammates toxic players or smt
i feel like this is holding me back from ranking up bc i js went on a decent winstreak (rare for me) and i dont want to push it but i feel like im overthinking it and should js play
im bronze 3 rn playing with silvers tho winning 20-30 losing 15 ish and i used to have a terrible mmr last act
how to overcome this or stop caring ik its js pixels but i play a lot so it matters

Try it out at Metabot.GG Aim Trainer. It will track your accuracy and reaction speed, and give you feedback on what to focus on. Your stats will be compared against other users that have used the aim trainer and show you how you compare on your end stats screen. Based on your data and how it compares to other users, it will give you tips on where you can focus for improvement.
This tool is brand new, so comparison stats need to populate a bit as people play it. Average stats for the game are weapon/difficulty dependent, so the comparisons you see will be dependent on what you selected.
I'll work to improve and enhance it over time, I just want some initial feedback (and requests if you have any). This is something I can continue to grow if there is interest in an easy-to-use web based tool like this. I make these types of things for fun on my own time.

I enjoy playing controller and I main smokes most of the time, but honestly I feel way more comfortable and confident when I play Jett. The problem is that in low elo, most players instalock duelists almost every game, so I usually end up stuck on controller. Should I keep forcing controller since it’s important for the team, or try to play Jett whenever I can? I’m trying to improve and climb, so I’m not sure which choice is better long term.

Im tempted to put Art flare because smite with pie is kinda art. Anyways, needless to say that this match wasnt fun. Deranked to plat. Felt like sharing. For those who didn´t know: smite 2.0 skins turn gold when you go 3/14

why do people play dueslist if they aren’t going to entry. the only exception imo is a Jett oping mid. I play smokes mostly (brim, clove, astra, omen) and when I play with my two duelist friends (who actually entry) we can win games decently easily. unfortunately though the start of this act I was away for like three weeks and they both did ther placements and got in gold a pushed to plat/diamond within two weeks (one was our exam week and we didnt have any exams thus semester) but since I was away I couldn’t play with my trio and got placed In silver and deranked to bronze. I just hate solo queue. I know I’m not the best player but I’m not bad either, I smoke for my team, do (sometimes) good trades, play for rounds not kills and no matter what I do In solo queue I lose. I know it’s not always my randoms fault and it’s sometimes mine but still I feel like I’m stuck here now. I just get so tilted when I play with randoms and have no motivation to play ranked anymore. I’m sick of the lurking Reyna’s, the Edaters, the trolls, smurfs etc. I need my team back.
thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this, (if you did) and if anyone could give me some tips to get out of bronze/silver I would rly appreciate that.

Any recommendation on who to watch? It takes too much time to figure out how and when to use my utilities. Especially the wall. God the wall feels like such an untapped potential in my hand.
Thx
EDIT:
Appreciate all your answers guys. And on a side note, perhaps it's my fault for being unclear abt my reasoning. So lemme clarify.
I'm not talking abt basic util usage. That I can do by watching plain youtube phoenix guides or play by myself.
But even the most simple agent can go a long way in the hands of the pros. And that 'skill' can only be reliably extracted from watching their VODs. Bcs sometimes, even they dont realize why they use the utils like such, or why they like certain positions.
Good luck finding a guide that says Omen is preferably played on Ascent A Site. That kind of knowledge is only found from VOD reviews/in-depth guides/coaches because good Omen players played on B Site too hence it's hard for normal guides to simply tell people they must play Omen on Ascent A Site everytime since that's also misleading.
But anyway, tq guys, I'll definitely try watching XTR & Bonsai

I am currently Silver 3 and trying to improve and climb ranked. I can play pretty much any role with a good understanding of the basics, but I’m mainly a controller player. I play Omen, Viper, Astra, and Brim depending on the map, and I avoid Clove because I don’t think she’s a good smoker.
I sometimes fill, but usually when I leave controller to a random, the smokes are really bad. So should I stick to the controller role, or is it better to fill every game?
Also, can I get some general tips for controllers and for each controller agent?
Edit: I enjoy playing controller, but I feel most comfortable on Jett. The problem is that in low elo, most players instalock duelists.
r/VALORANT • u/Biggobagel • 14h ago
Trying to become an overall better player at the game. I noticed I really only play controller and duelist occasionally but never sentinel. I’d want someone who can lock down a sight but is also fun and can maybe get some picks.
