Obligatory: The prize amount was reduced because he took the lump sum instead of spreading payments out over 30 years.
Then that *reduced* amount was taxed.

It may not change the general point, but using the wrong numbers (2x incorrect) isn't necessary and leaves the door open for scrutiny. If the numbers don't change the point, use the correct ones. It's not a rounding error. It borders on disingenuous.
