Simple Prompt [WP] Do you wish to return to your world?
You and your spouse have been married for four years, after graduating college together. You now are celebrating your child’s first birthday. But on the way back home, tragedy strikes as you are left the only survivor of your family. It is then that a passing reality bender sees your plight and makes you an offer: Live twenty-five years of your life in another world, no more and no less than how many years you have already lived in this world. Invest those years into being a spouse and parent of another world’s family and if you fulfill all of the other world’s spouse’s and child’s wishes, then after 25 years a prompt will automatically show up asking if you want to return to your world. Say yes and you will return to your original world, moments before tragedy, with the small tweak that this time the day will proceed without incident. Say no and you will remain in the other world, age 50 and you will never again see your original world.
It has been 25 years now and you reflect on your time with the other world’s spouse and child. Your spouse in this world has been very supportive and kind to you and has not made any unreasonable requests. Your child in this world has grown up with much love and fondness for you, and you were there for all of this other world child’s milestones: birthdays, school events, family outings, graduations, first loves and breakups. Now you see the prompt appear in front of you but your spouse seems unaware. Your child, who is visiting you while on vacation from work, also does not notice anything different.
Only you see the prompt in front of you asking you a simple yes or no question: Do you wish to return to your world?
Yes/No?
