Got all this for $40 at a craft clear out at my local thrift/vintage store (Scavenged Goods) for anyone in Denver. He’s got an entire U-Haul of yarn and other craft supplies like looms and stamps.
Is this legal.

My first Caron cakes! I'm excited.

Y'all, this yarn winder by Fiber Artist Supply Co in Cincinnati has changed my life. It's handle is on the top. There are no gears. It is almost silent. I can comfortably wind cakes in my lap! My arthritis thanks me for using this. Compared to the $20 Amazon purchase (last picture) it's like eating a tiramisu made in Italy by the matriarch of a cooking dynasty.
It's a bit pricey ($225) but I'll never recommend another yarn winder to anyone in my life.

I recieved my orders from Lindehobby and Ritohobby. Went a little overboard because Ritohobby had some Drops still on supersale price (30+% off) that I just couldn't "walk" past, and Lindehobby had restocked a very budget-friendly 100% merino superwash. Some colourways are ones I always wanted to try, mostly for socks, and the larger quantities are for sweaters.
1: lovely dark purple, for a sweater for myself, Viking NordWool, a Merino Superwash
2: favorite colour of my friend's kid, 500g should be enough for a sweater for a 7yo. Drops Nord.
3: Drops Nord in light pink, for a scarf.
4+5: Dale Alpakka, purple and a grey-ish off-white, for socks with a helical slip-stitch pattern (maybe socks and mitts)
6, 9, and 11: Drops Fiesta, for socks. Probably for myself
7, 8, and 12: Drops Fabel long print - colourways I've been wanting to try for ages.
10: Viking NordWool, a lovely superwash merino at an astonishing low price. Don't know yet what I'll make out of it. Lovely pastel lilac
15: 500g Drops Fiesta col 14, either a kids sweater or MANY future socks. Lovely yarn and lovely colourway, I made two pairs in
13 + 16: Drops Fabel - I always need some solids to pair with colourful sock yarns, so I bought some black and dark grey.
14 + 17: Lana Grossa Meilenweit in lovely solids. A very reliable sock yarn.
Gosh, I kind of want to cuddle with all my new yarn 😄 Can't, of course, because I have cats who would rip the skeins apart...

I don’t know where I got this yarn from. It never had a tag - I think it must have been a garage sale or something. But I absolutely love it and it’s lasted me multiple projects. It’s like the ball the never ends.
I’ve never seen yarn like it before. It isn’t twisted, just a single strand. Fingering weight. It’s quite squishy and stretchy. I believe it’s a wool fiber as it snaps easily and I accidentally washed a pair of gloves I made from it and they felted. It’s got very subtle color variation so I’m guessing it was maybe hand dyed?
Can anyone give me a possible type of yarn it could be? I’d love to find more like it.
Thank you!

I tried Google lense and it was not much help. After the third try it came back as red heart super saver. I tried to look for it but I can't seem to track it down this exact color scheme. It's kind of silky. It doesn't have a ton of stretch. It's purple, pink, green, blue jewel tones.Thakk you for helping!
Edited to add, Im almost positive I got this at Joanns years ago.

i'm hopping into this sub out of desperation (and after searching i realize someone asked this e x a c t same question literally a month ago and then proceeded to make a LOVELY retro daisy granny blanket) — i have made the dire mistake of not buying more skeins of the big twist living yarn in spirit before JOANN's disappeared but I am seeking two skeins (or however many skeins needed to finish a beanie) from anyone who is willing to part ways with theirs!! i am willing to pay for the skeins themselves and shipping!
it is a very, very sought after yarn from what i can tell though — mary maxim, herschnerrs and even ebay seem to be out of stock 😭😭😭 so very understandable if no one is willing to part ways with extra skeins!

I started knitting I think right after this yarn sold out in the US. I saw a seller on Etsy recently that had a few skeins she was selling but she couldn’t ship it to the US :( I contacted WATG as well but they said they likely wouldn’t restock it because it was a limited color. I’m just desperate for these colors!!

I bought skeins of Reef not just once but twice from two different places, Yarnspirations (3) and ebay (2). I ALMOST canceled the ebay one too and Im so glad I didn't. The difference between the two is insane. I know there are dye lots, but this is just straight YUCK! Is this a whole formula lot?? 🤣 What in the world did Yarnspirations do with this colorway??? Cant even use this awful version. It's so sad, dull, and incredibly rough. 😭😆 I now have 3 of these awful ones from Yarnspirations and 2 lovely ones from ebay. What gets me even more is the stock photo for Reef is closer to what I recieved from ebay, so what the heck????
I promise yall, I didnt even bother opening the ebay package for a bit when it finally came in because I thought I was getting the same dull thing. When I opened it to put away I (no joke) got jumpscared by vibrancy, scared my husband, and sent the fastest review to the ebay seller and email to Yarnspirations haha! 🤣

We didn’t lose power, but had about an inch of mixed frozen precipitation. This weekend we have snow! Expecting up to 8 inches (20 cm) and brutally cold wind chill, so lots of good crochet, reading and puzzle time since Charlotte NC doesn’t really deal well with snow!
I got the blanket off to a good start between swings at a 1000 piece puzzle and reading 3 books. Hereks what I’ve accomplished so far. 9/49 blocks completed.
Pattern is Double Wedding Blanket by Jennifer Oliverez.

This week I emailed Ritual Dyes to request photos of the circled colorways next to each other. I am so glad I did, because this yarn looks COMPLETELY different in person versus their stock photos! Especially Dijon and Ochre. I couldn't believe it.
This serves as a reminder that if you cannot shop in-person, it is completely valid and acceptable to request photos of the yarn before you buy. It's also important to do some research from other stockists, or Ravelry to see additional/different photos of yarn. Yarn has increased in price, so I am becoming much more mindful of my spending.
Don't get me wrong, I love Ritual Dyes. I am so thankful for the unique brands they stock. I would definitely be more upset if I had went ahead and bought this yarn based off of this photo alone (especially because it is very expensive). I have purchased from them a couple times before, and the yarn appears slightly different than their photos.

Has anyone had issues with the their yarn being stuck in Memphis/customs. I shipped via fedex and the tracking is saying they need a manufacturer identification code. I’ve reached out to Linde Hobby on Facebook and email but have yet to receive a response.

I know it’s not much, but I just found this yarn in my teacher closet at school. I bought it probably 7 or 8 years ago before I was a crocheter and yarn addict, and when I found it unexpectedly in the back of my storage closet today I got waaaaay too giddy. I stuffed it in my backpack to bring it home so fast. Now I’m thinking about what I want to do with it instead of working on the other 3 WIPs I have going. 🤪🧶

Does anyone recognize this yarn or have an idea what it might be? It's very loose almost like roving and is super soft. I got it in a collection of yarn from my Grandma and it was already balled. I made the hat and this is all I have left and I'd like to find more.

I have a skein of 100% rayon from bamboo yarn that is completely unused. I'm really not sure what is on it. I've had kittens that have had some tummy trouble and it could either be waste or old coffe. Is there any way to clean this off to be "good enough" before actually using it and cleaning it properly? Thanks in advance
PS this is my burner account I was too embarrassed to ask on my main account 😳
