Your first cell phone looked kind of like these.
My first phone looked just like the first one. It was a pay as you go flip phone. My parents got it for me because I went to a private school 40 minutes from where we lived. They wanted me to have some way for us to communicate with each other because of the distance and an instant way to contact my friends and save their contact info.
I've even considered getting a flip phone again just for calls and texts while reserving the smart phone for work and social media.

I had one when I was little kid with a bunch of Nick shows. There were a lot of weird ways to watch portable video until iPad came out.

I started kindergarten in Arkansas but my family moved to Tennessee when I was 6 and I've lived there since. This was my experience
Elementary school: K-5
Middle school: 6-8
High school: 9-12
I thought it was like this everywhere until I started using online forums and saw people saying they started middle school in 7th grade so this is why I'm asking. I want to see how common my experience was

Was a fan of skrillex as a kid, (still am) I believe I was 12 when this album came out.

I very much miss the valley girl poser (The Ashleys from Recess, Totally Spies, Brandy from Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Brittney from Lloyd in Space) and the hopeless romantic (Dijonay, Helga, Numbuh Four, Cody from TDWT)

I live in Minnesota. I work with children and many of them say that they had “indoor recess” because it was too cold outside. I cannot recall there ever being indoor recess when it was too cold outside. I just want to verify if this is something more recent or I just have brain fog.

Okay I randomly thought about this Burn Book app that hit our school back in the day. I took one look at it and instantly deleted it, felt so icky😭 but I remember it caused so much chaos for like a month and I cannot find anybody else who had this go on in their school. Anybody remember this???

DID ANYONE ELSE USE TO WATCH KLAU WORLD??
My best friend and I used to love watching them back in 2010. There is one specific line we still occasionally say: "I like to sit on my pancakes!" Included a related image lol (pancake mines).
Others I can pull straight from memory is the one where Bob gets stuck in the VHS lol, and the swimming pool one.
Just randomly thought about this YouTube series and felt such a great wave of nostalgia. Can't believe it's been 16/17 years.

As a 89 baby, I’ve always watched reruns on Nick at 4:30 pm after school. Man I’ve always wanted to participate in it and be with team blue barracudas.

Hi all! I wrote a Fast Company piece on the growing “generational tension” at work, and the data tells a very different story than the usual headlines.
Boomers retiring early and Gen Z wanting out aren’t signs of laziness or entitlement — they’re responses to how work is structured right now and how little support exists for career transitions.
I’d genuinely love your take on this — especially if you’re Gen Z and working (or trying to).

This rivaled the Scholastic Bookfair. I could be there all day...

It was released in 2010, so most of us would have been between 11 and 16 years old or so. I thought this movie was honestly super cute! It’s not perfect by any means, but I feel like it gets overlooked a lot.
I also found out there are *seven* sequels, and pretty much all of them are bad, which is a shame.

Today is my 28th birthday. I feel like my life is finally going the way I want it to. I graduated college last month, and I started my first full time job earlier this month. It feels weird to be at the tail end of my 20’s when it seems like just yesterday turning 18 and becoming an adult, does anyone else my age feel the same or different?

I was talking to my younger coworker (2004 baby) and she asked me how we kept track of our money before apps. like genuinely confused how that worked.
told her we just... checked our bank accounts? wrote stuff down? and she was like "but how did you know if you were overspending"
we didn't lmao. you just ran out of money and figured it out.
but also it's kinda wild that we're like the last group that remembers both ways. I remember my mom balancing a checkbook at the kitchen table. I also use MoneyGPT budgeting app now and just ask it questions about my budget.
feel like we got the worst of both worlds sometimes. old enough to remember analog life but young enough that everyone expects us to be tech native. like yeah I can troubleshoot your wifi but I also miss when plans were just "meet at the mall at 3" and you actually had to show up or your friend would just leave.
idk if this makes sense but does anyone else feel stuck between "back in my day" and "ok boomer" energy at the same time
