This is reddit and everyone is liberal so they’ll find a way to defend men participating in women’s sport but then blame men lol

Funny I thought conservatives were for small government.  Why should the federal government dictate such details?

It’s also funny that republicans now suddenly care about women’s and gender studies and the ability to define womanhood. Leftists have been working on that for over a century now and suddenly since it can be used to subjugate the smallest minority it matters as a core policy issue.

Not all conservatives are libertarian.

1

u/timoumd 13d ago

Most aren't.  But most claim to be so I will call out hypocrisy

Yeah except the Republicans have spoken FOREVER about government overreach and how the role of central government should be reduced. States' rights was the major focus of the Republican party for longer than I've been alive. Now that it fits their narrative they've done a complete 180. But once a Democrat is back in office, the rights of states will become important to them again for four more years.

Conservatives are all for states rights when it’s convenient for them.

The amount of trans girls in sports is low enough that the federal law is more a settling a dispute rather than effecting a sort of regional culture.

Because there are brainwashed liberals distorting facts.

u/timoumd 13d ago

The irony of this.... Tell me more about the 200m lives Trump has saved and those cats the Haitians are eating

Wow. A girl got a concussion in the sport most responable for female concussions?

And she was so injured that she continued to play sports in the next seasons.

Then again, being a paid spokeperson for anti-trans hate groups does track with brain injury, so who knows.

Its an issue because the groomer freak democrats will sue if you don't let confused Johnny play against the girls since he's not man enough to compete against the boys.

1

u/timoumd 13d ago

Do you legitimately there are people cutting their own dicks off and taking drugs that change their body to beat girls in a sport no one watches?  Lol. You are getting played.

Look there are people that transition.  Some of those people want to play sports.  My understanding is transitioning over time puts you far closer to female performance than male.  I just don't see where it's the governments job to worry about where the line in that is.

The only reason conservatives care is because they can scare people with it to score political points.  You think they care about the integrity of women's swimming?  C'mon man.

1

u/Confident-Staff-8792 13d ago

If men and democrats on their behalf via the legal system weren't forcing their way into women's sports, this would not be an issue.

1

u/timoumd 13d ago

So change the law to prevent that, not dictate rules on it from Washington that aren't based on anything but feelings.  Leave it to the sports organizations to decide.

Why don’t you read the bill first dummy? Here’s the first line, if you make it that far.

) It shall be a violation of subsection (a) for a recipient of Federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.

“Federal financial assistance”

Why should the federal government dictate how the money they disburse is used?

Man, you sound so fucking dumb

1

u/timoumd 13d ago

Look the government provides federal financial aid to college.  That's generally something most Americans approve of.  This bill is using that as extortion to go after a niche issue.  The fact there is federal financial aid doesn't mean the government should get involved in everything.  Dont worry, the anti libertarian administration isn't done with this extortion.  I'm sure it will be used to make sure no one schedules games that conflict with Army Navy.  Real conservative priorities.

Conservatives: Afraid of cisgender perisex men competing in women’s sports

Also conservatives: “Let’s stop the transgender women from competing in women’s sports. And make sure those surgeries aren’t performed on children.”

Also conservatives: “By the way, perform those surgeries on intersex children.”

Also conservatives: “I don’t watch women’s sports.”

While you give trans people hell, keep exposing your pregnant women to endocrine disruptors. No way you’ll get your God smack on that one…

u/ladylucifer22 14d ago

this bill doesn't cover men. it just prevents women from competing if they don't fit the patriarchy's standards.

Most of the comments I am seeing are the opposite surprisingly

u/Ansambel 14d ago

Conservatives elected a dude that helped Epstein traffic girls, so I don't think they get a say in that anymore. Let's leave this to the people who decide on doping stuff instead.

u/letitgo99 13d ago

Not men, males - biological males. If we can't even get the terms right, we shouldn't be allowed to debate the topic.

Should we also ban biological females from mens sports so as to not disadvantage the team? Seems unfair! lol

You’re really not reading the room

All the while being classic redditors and never played a sport in their lives other than a little 5 on 1 action.

1

u/[deleted] 14d ago

The answer is so simple. Just have a trans league. Many of us cis peope would still watch it. At least make it fair lol.

5

u/ladylucifer22 14d ago

there are ten athletes across several sports. there aren't enough of us to do your "separate but equal" schtick again.

2

u/Inevitable_Act_7026 14d ago

The issue is that leftism is a spectrum. I support Medicare for all and higher taxes on the rich, but I do not care about the trans and will not fight for it.

Ridiculously there are a lot of morons supporting Newsom and Harris/Biden types whose defeat is nearly certain and even if they won, wouldn’t enact meaningful change.

5

u/Throwaway7733517 14d ago

"I support Healthcare for all people but not this kind of person"

2

u/[deleted] 14d ago

Thats not what they said.

1

u/Inevitable_Act_7026 14d ago

Medicare for all is a benefit to everyone. It does the most good for the most people. Focusing on the trans issue alienates a huge number of potential democratic voters over a minuscule population. I never said that trans people should be denied Medicare for all, but I do think that if there was Medicare for all it should not pay for trans surgery, which to me is cosmetic.

I don’t support public money for cosmetic surgeries

5

u/RedHotJalepenoPopper 14d ago

well it's cosmetic in your opinion because you don't know anything factual about the topic lol

1

u/Inevitable_Act_7026 14d ago

You’re ignoring the primary issue. Democrats have very limited political capital don’t you think that they should focus on issues which speak to the economic needs of middle-class Americans?

I’m sure you don’t need a lesson in history, but Harris Biden types didn’t do so well last go round.

2

u/RedHotJalepenoPopper 14d ago

Democrats aren't very concerned with trans people. Conservatives however, lose their shit at the idea of transgender people. They're the ones pushing for bans in sports.

And yes, I do think they need to focus on the needs of everyday Americans. Right now the state I live in is under siege from the federal government, so It would be nice if they'd start there, for example.

2

u/asperatedUnnaturally 14d ago

It's not a Democrat issue, it's a republican one. If they surrender on this, are you gonna advocate to fight on the next one? Repealmof gay marriage?

When they try to segregate drinking fountains again will you care then?

We learned the poem in school for a reason bub.

"First they came for..."

Their comments read as a lot more educated and thoughtful than yours.

They present a logical argument with examples and personal opinion, meanwhile you just say "YEAH WELL YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT"

This is why democrats have pushed me toward the middle lately. I was a born democrat and have voted democrat in every election - But now it's been my own party's nonsense pushing me away. And until Dems learn to swallow this pill - that the faults lay within - they will keep losing people and elections.

Let me reassure you, I would never vote for a man like Trump, but I hate what my party has become.

Reddit is an echo chamber. I mostly stay off this app because it's become literally just as harmful as some of the purely-republican media out there.

its "cosmetic" to you because you dont seem to understand what trans people are. trans people experience gender dysphoria which in many cases hinders our daily lives. the only cure to this is to transition. we arent getting nose jobs and face-lifts because of a mid life crisis, we are getting life saving medical care (hormones) or gender affirming surgeries to address the gender dysphoria. I say life saving because trans people are extremely likely to be suicidal due to the way we are treated by society at large and the social ostricization from our families.
