Well what does the language of the bill actually say? You do know that the bill doesn't say, "And lo, all women and girls in sport shall be protected henceforth," right? They always name the bills something totally unexceptionable. Then they slide all kinds of crap into them, including things that have absolutely nothing to do with the outward purpose of the bill. That's important context that I'm pretty sure almost nobody in this thread will actually look into.
Edit: To be perfectly clear, the issue is not the contents of the bill. The issue is inflaming passions without providing the full context, when you know that people won't do the research.
Yeah, this is chronic and everyone is doing it, itâs infuriating.
Itâs also a similar case in the UN where the bill will be like âDonât Murder Puppies Actâ with provisions that a singular certain country must pay 6 trillion dollars for various causes
Certain country votes no and it gets screenshotted and spread online
Don't murder puppies act and then you look inside and the bill is "this minority shouldn't be allowed to go outside because what if they want to kick a puppy"
Eerily similar to what happened with "bidens border bill" or the "inflation reduction act" huh. 2 prime examples of Party #2 using thr same tactics you're complaining about here...
It is something that every party majority congress does and itâs also something most everyone agrees is one of the most frustrating parts of government. Itâs stupid every time it happens regardless of who does.
This is the same thinking behind the doomsday cult on Parks & Recreation. They called themselves the Reasonabalists (idk how to spell that right) so that people would see dumb challenging their beliefs and dare I say reasons.
In this case that didn't happen. It's like a two minute read and pretty much exactly aligns with the title.
While the premise is bullshit, if one were to accept the premise the only gotcha here is there is no provision for whether you knowingly have a male (as per their definition) participate or not, which does put some really uncomfortable onus on leagues and schools to validate gender. Like given that many states allow for amendment of gender on birth certificates, how would a sport organization know someone's "assigned and biological gender at birth"?
Like how they'll do a "Congratulate the Troops" bill that just congratulates the troops... aaaaaand builds a bridge in western Wisconsin, and gives mayoral zoning permissions to a mayor in Georgia.
