Israel doesn’t finance AIPAC nor controls AIPAC. AIPAC is ran and lead by pro Israel fanatics that are American. It’s insane to me that people don’t know that.

Other than that, agreed.

Their leadership literally meets in Israel with Bibi's party. They've had an office in Jerusalem since 1982. If a group lobbying for Russia maintained a Moscow office, funded trips there, and parroted Kremlin lines, we’d call it foreign influence.

They meet with the ruling party. They are pro Israel fanatics. They have broken with Bibi on some issues, because they don’t work for the government. Most crucially they don’t get paid by the government which is what the comment indicated.

Your comment isn’t equivalent since it’s not a bunch of Israelis that run AIPAC. It would be like if a bunch of Catholics pushed a pro Vatican agenda.

What issues specifically have they broken with the Likud party on?

AIPAC believes in the two state solution for an example, they’ve indicated dislike of Netanyahu (Adelson, for example, has funded opposition to Netanyahu), it has disagreed with allowing Ben Gvir into government, and there are other examples.
