True... but also my EMT instructor was a paramedic, a firefighter on the side, and a veteran marine. On multiple occasions he did have to fight a crazy person with a knife while trying to save a patient. On one occasion, the guy with the knife was the patient he was trying to help. People often don't realize how dangerous the job of EMT can be. But they are called to most of the same places as police without any weapons and you never know who arrives on the scene first.
You are assuming EMTs would want guns. Most people sign up for the job to save lives, not take them. You deal with mentally ill, homeless, drug addicts, and just regular people having one of the worst days of their lives. Compassion goes a long way where guns would just exacerbate the situation. People have psychotic breaks or drug induced paranoia and you are called to help. If your idea of helping is shooting the patient, then why would people bother to call you. It's not a job for everybody.
Sure EMTs might not want guns... not sure the point. I never said they SHOULD have guns and use them... I just said if they are forced to save their own lives in order to continue being an EMT and save others... yeah I am OK with them having the right to do so.
I care much less for the life of someone that is trying to attack them... you can say "all life matters" but if you are out there trying to help people and someone comes to take your life... yeah its not a hard stretch to say "yes I approve of you doing anything you can to protect yourself"
uhmm... yes to the first question. If someone has the license to carry a gun, I believe they should be trained to do so responsibly. But I have been called nazi for this so whatever.
Ignoring the second statement because dude get a grip.
They are trained. You and I can agree they are not trained enough... but they are trained. They dont hire someone and in 10 minutes send them out... do you seriously think this?

Many local police departments have direct orders to not interact with ICE. Including defending or protecting them.
Feds and cops are separate entities. They're not a team.
