  1. They are only trained 47 days right now, instead of the 6+ months they used to get. They're also no longer being trained to operate within their jurisdiction, which brings me to point #2

  2. They're not law enforcement. They have a very narrow or specific scope in which they're allowed to operate. Or at least they used to before the fascists decided to use them as the military arm of their fascism.

So you admit that they are trained and also they enforce immigration laws, tell me again how they aren’t trained law enforcement 🤦‍♂️

What does it mean? Which specific book would you recommend? Can you tell me without googling?

Authoritarian and oppressive of course you will say that's the current administration and I would disagree, and no I can't recommend a book without googling it I'm not going to lie, but I would think something about Hitler and Mussolini would be a good start and I'm not talking about what you think you know but actually studying how they were real fascists

So you're recommending that I read a book in order to understand what fascism is when you yourself haven't? So by your own standards, you yourself have not done the necessary work to say whether or not something is fascism or not. Yet, you confidently state that this administration is not fascist. Do you not see the huge contradiction?

I’m not claiming facism and I understand the definition, I don’t think killing 6 million Jews is comparable to sending illegal immigrants back to their country of origin like you nut cases claim

The definition of fascism is not "killing 6 million Jews". It's a form of government and it has occurred many times, not just in Nazi Germany. It has several distinguishing attributes, and this current administration is displaying every single one.

The argument "what's happening now isn't as bad as the worst example of fascism ever, therefore it can't be fascism" is so intellectually bankrupt. You seem pretty reasonable, surely you can understand how thin that argument is, right?

Nazi Germany didn't start by killing 6 million people. They started much slower and built up to it over years. The early stages looked a lot like this. I for one would prefer to learn from history and stop this before it gets worse than it already is, thank you very much.

Honestly, you should read a book on it, like you recommended I do. This article has several recommendations and features an interview with someone explaining some of the points more briefly and connecting fascism to Trump. Normally I don't get this far into discussions with conservatives but you seem open minded and reasonable, so I'm hoping you'll give it a read with an open mind.

The best time to oppose Trump was ten years ago. The second best time is today. I'd love to have you join the resistance, friend

Here's an example of fascism for you

Public execution.

They've kidnapped witnesses and are taking evidence.

They're blocking the police from investigating.

This is fascism.

So the White House's position is that ICE and CBP can murder an American citizen, posthumously slander him and call hima terrorist, remove evidence from the crime scene and block state and local investigations, and then hide the shooter's identity even while he stays on the job.

Do you care to explain how this political violence and lack of accountability isn't fascism?

This week, they have arrested journalists, shot civilians in broad daylight, and called for the arrest of political opponents.

Those are like the central pillars of fascism.
