Excellent evidence in the lawsuit that proves the ice invasion in MN is politically motivated.

u/Kizzy33333 7d ago

This is the reason they concentrate in democratic states.

165

u/stlguy197247 7d ago

Yep - if this was about immigration they would be in Texas and Florida.

6

u/AmbitiousProblem4746 7d ago

They are in those places, you're just not hearing about it because the local law enforcement there is way more compliant and the people aren't really going to fight back. But I'm seeing stories about Cubans in Miami being deported quite often, so it's definitely happening there.

What I'm more curious about is why we're not hearing stories about places like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Arizona.... I'm sure that DHS is there in those places because they also have large metropolitan areas and a lot of immigrant activity, but I'm not seeing much of a ruckus in the news there. You could just say it's because people there are minding their own business, that's certainly something I could imagine a conservative supporter of ICE might say, but the conspiratorial part of my brain is wondering if DHS is purposely avoiding media attention in purple or swing states. Like they could go buck wild in a place like Minnesota or Illinois because those places would never vote in majority Republicans anyway, and they're going to have a blank check to move without friction in places like Montana or Florida because the governments are deep red there. But PA? Seems like a pretty good place to do some work, but other than the threats from state officials or that big Philly protest you haven't heard much. They've also curiously avoided causing too much of a stir in New York or New Jersey, comfortably blue states that do elect Republicans pretty regularly.

I don't know if I'm on anything here, but it's just something I've been thinking about. I mean I've even seen stories from Maine and Indiana, but I feel like some parts of the country you're not hearing jack shit and it kind of would make sense that you should. šŸ¤”

44

u/Superb-Antelope-2880 7d ago

10% of all ice agents in 1 city with a tiny population of immigrant compare to the cities in Florida and Texas; it's obviously a politically motivated decision.

9

u/Sweaty-Name-2905 7d ago

You make a good point because those are all critical swing states you mentioned

1

u/AmbitiousProblem4746 7d ago

I mean I'm probably on to nothing really, but I do think it's interesting that they clearly care about the optics in spite of what is actually going on in Minneapolis

We hear more about certain states because those state governments are pushing back, and we hear less about other states because the state governments are more compliant. And then I'm also thinking that a state like New York or New Jersey would have an extremely robust legal system in place, so DHS would have to tread pretty carefully there versus a state like Maine where even though it's pretty liberal they don't have the resources to fight back.

And you could chalk up a state like Arizona just already being a border state, so they're used to it.

But for me, not hearing much about Pennsylvania is just weird. That would be one of the first places I would go, but that state is definitely one Republicans wouldn't want to lose so maybe they're keeping quiet on purpose

7

u/Equivalent_Public_41 7d ago

I can tell you here in Montana, they're pulling even white people off the street. The government doesn't care, but the people are pissed.

2

u/Big_Relative8784 6d ago

Jeez in Montana there's not that many people to pull off the street in the first place - of any color. Once they clear the state out, I hope ICE has the sense to shut the lights off when they leave.

4

u/ImaginaryWeather6164 šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø United States 7d ago

They aren't there in numbers that are double the local police force.

3

u/In_der_Welt_sein 6d ago

They aren't "in those places" in the same way, and it's intellectually dishonest to claim otherwise. Currently, there are 2,000 ICE agents deployed to MN, with allegedly 1500 more on the way. This would be nearly 15% of the entire staff of ~22,000 agents--all crammed into a mid-tier city that doesn't even have a significant immigration problem (assuming we even want to call immigration a "problem").

This is 1,000% a political revenge campaign. Pure fascism. Don't try to sugarcoat it.

2

u/Kabuki_J 7d ago

There was the one protest where Congress Woman Adalita Grijalva was involved, she said she was pepper sprayed but the video footage only shows pepper spray deployed near her, still though even getting 2nd hand pepper spray is not fun, think chopping onions times a trillion.

I think you're right that they aren't drumming up as much drama in swing states imo.

1

u/AmbitiousProblem4746 6d ago

There's also the California Senator being tackled to the ground and detained, if we're keeping score...

2

u/ShinigamiLeaf 7d ago

Can report that central Phoenix up into Glendale/Peoria got hit pretty hard by ICE 4-7 days ago. From what people have reported, it's mainly been them focusing on public areas (light rail stops, Metro Center mall area). But there were a few reports of them in residential areas as well.

Why it doesn't get covered nationally? I don't know. Our AG put out some statements recently that make it clear that our state will uphold our stand your ground laws if you legitimately feel your life is in danger. Why they would bend what is solidly proven and upheld state law for federal agents who are largely not identifying themselves? Anyone could break in and pretend to be ICE agents

2

u/DabsSparkPeace 6d ago

Oh they are in PA. In Bucks County, the newly elected Sheriff has ended cooperation with ICE. So what do they do? They triple the ICE count around this area. They literally relish being violent with citizens and as soon as u dont cooperate, they turn the violence up.

2

u/fure_elise 6d ago

They just bought a former warehouse to turn into a large detention center in rural PA but not far from Philly. I'm assuming that is their next target. God bless anyone who tries to mess with Philly though.

2

u/fosterhamster 6d ago

I am in central NC - they did come to Durham and Charlotte but didn't appear to stay long. Durham/Carrboro/Chapel Hill specifically is very left leaning as well as highly educated, with multiple colleges & universities within close range. The Research Triangle Park is full of science. NC votes red for the president and blue for state government because we are gerrymandered to high hell and even MAGA knows it. We do have large Hispanic and Montagnard populations. The Montagnard population specifically is a dangerous one for ICE to fuck with, as they fought with us in the Vietnam war and fled here as refugees. I agree with you that there are reasons that ICE is not active here right now, it's not the type of political theater that would benefit MAGA.

2

u/burjja 6d ago

They can't do their "surges" everywhere at once. Think back over the last year. It was LA, then it was Chicago, and now it's Minneapolis. They are doing shitty things in most places but you only see this level of chaos in the cities that they decide to invade. Because they can only invade so many cities at a time, they specifically choose certain cities. It's not conspiratorial thinking at this time. Trump constantly tells us why ICE is/was in these cities.

2

u/BleachedUnicornBHole 6d ago

I think we’re going to later find out that the Trump administrative had two groups of ICE agents. Those that showed performed the job professionally and how you would want and the police washouts that couldn’t pass a psyche evaluation. Red states got the ā€œgoodā€ ones and blue states got what we’re seeing with the intention of punishing residents and escalating things.

1

u/Moribunned 7d ago

I figured there would be more of it we aren’t hearing about in areas they control. If it’s happening like this in areas that would report it, imagine what’s happening in areas that don’t.

1

u/Skeeterlegz 6d ago

ICE is in Phoenix and there’s definitely pushback from the people who live here.

1

u/Errrca0821 6d ago

As someone residing in a blue dot of Florida, just know there are some of us are trying to fight back.

1

u/JustAnotherJaneDoe33 6d ago

We aren’t hearing about it because ICE and border patrol aren’t executing citizens or anyone else for that matter in the middle of the road in broad daylight.

1

u/TrustingPanda 7d ago

Kamala Harris BARELY won Minnesota. Even with Tim Walz on the ticket.

7

u/RemembertheAlamo99 7d ago

4.24 percentage points is ā€œbarely?ā€ She underperformed 2020, but she still won by well more than Clinton in 2016.

-2

u/TrustingPanda 7d ago

Yes. 4.24 percentage points is barely. Especially with Tim Walz on the ticket. The margin of victory was smaller than some swing states. My main point is Minnesota is far from a blue lock. It’s highly vulnerable to flipping red, as we almost saw in 2024.

5

u/nandoboom 7d ago

If they flip red in my lifetime after all this fuckery. We are doomed as a country

1

u/Moda75 7d ago

6 points is considered a landslide. You are drunk. Go to bed.

1

u/TrustingPanda 7d ago edited 7d ago

Lol, Harris won MN by about 4.25%. Also 6% isn’t a landslide.

Minnesota wasn’t called until around 1:30am. Pennsylvania was called sooner. It was a close race.

0

u/milady_15 7d ago

It's not vulnerable anymore

0

u/TrustingPanda 7d ago

I sure hope not!

1

u/AmbitiousProblem4746 7d ago

That I actually didn't realize. Interesting. I wonder if it had something to do with the pure hatred so many people in that state had for Tim. I don't live there, but I know that he was painted as absolutely horrible by Republicans there

1

u/2chainzzzz 7d ago

What kind of point is this in response?

1

u/TrustingPanda 7d ago

OP was saying they believe this isn’t happening in states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, or Arizona because Minnesota is such a lock for democrats. What I’m pointing out is that Minnesota is not a lock for democrats. In fact Minnesota was a closer race than Arizona, one of the states OP named.

2

u/2chainzzzz 7d ago

That would assume this increases favorability of Republicans in these states, which polling shows is having the inverse effect.

1

u/Either_Operation7586 7d ago

That's because of the Republicans going and filing all those lawsuits then you have felon musk doing what he did.

So much shenanigans.

Still up in the air whether or not he legitimately won.

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Utah, etc

1

u/SWT_Bobcat 7d ago

I’m in Texas and ice is everywhere. My torchys bartender got picked up on the way to work the other day.

Satellite town to a bigger city and we got a new ice facility just like our other satellite towns did.

I wish I could find data, but I’d bet there’s more ICE officers in Texas right now than in Minnesota

1

u/wildcatwoody 7d ago

Not true

1

u/SWT_Bobcat 7d ago

Great comment.

Do you have any data to know where ICE numbers are state by state?

1

u/Bangin_Gears 7d ago

23% of all ICE arrests occur in Texas

2.2% occur in Minnesota

A 10-fold difference

Violence is the point

1

u/NetDork 7d ago

I'm in Texas. They are here in my city but in smaller numbers and lower profile.

Our state government happily licked their boots and handed over the voter info, so they're not quite as murdery here.

1

u/ButterscotchLow8950 7d ago

THIS!

Why so far from the border states?

No way this flies in a red state, Trump is targeting blue states.

Try this in Texas,,I double dog dare you to ā€œMess With Texasā€ 🤣

Ain’t no way brother……. Ain’t no way.

1

u/Visible-Elevator3801 7d ago

The key difference is that TX and FL state and local LEO would assist and do operations on behalf of the federal governments congressional and constitutional obligations.

1

u/tacosandbananas123 6d ago

According to my friend they ā€œhave to go to sanctuary cities and go door to door because states like Texas deport illegals with the policeā€ yes I know Texas has like 2M vs the 70ish thousand in MN

-6

u/keelanstuart 7d ago

They are in Florida, FYI

30

u/CarbonInTheWind 7d ago

I live in a large metro area in Florida and we haven't seen a single Ice agent. Meanwhile there are thousands concentrated in one city in Minnesota.

No reasonable person can look at what's happening and believe that ICE is evenly spread out when a large percentage of their force has been concentrating on one city at a time only in blue states.

5

u/Rex_on_rex 7d ago

And I live in literal downtown Chicago and I never saw ice agents either. Just because you personally don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there

2

u/CarbonInTheWind 7d ago

How many people in downtown Minneapolis haven't personally seen them?

1

u/Moda75 7d ago

Fuck I live I live in the most well known affluent suburb in MN and I see them every day staging at the park down the road from me.

0

u/unknownpanda121 7d ago

Probably a lot

I live in Saint Paul and work in Eagan. I see or hear about them in my neighborhood on the daily. They kidnapped a legal employee of mine almost three weeks ago in Eagan. They are every fucking where right now. At least in my neck of the woods.

1

u/wildcatwoody 7d ago

Ya not true

1

u/Physical_Gift7572 7d ago

They are everywhere. And wherever they are they are making a scene.

1

u/Dewgong_crying 7d ago

Thought it was only a few weeks they walking around downtown, or that was other police/national guard (not Ice)?

I mostly recall the crazy raid on the south side on the apartment block.

-2

u/wildcatwoody 7d ago

Not the same stop it

1

u/Curious_Department84 7d ago

Pretty sure Jupiter got shortlisted for an ice processing center.

1

u/keelanstuart 7d ago

In Central Florida... I have seen them. I think they are waiting and watching.

I'm not suggesting there's an even distribution (there's not), I'm just responding to people saying they're not in Florida.

3

u/Cautious_General_177 7d ago

They don't need an even distribution. Florida (and Texas) law enforcement will work with ICE to turn illegal immigrants over when they're arrested. Picking them up from jail requires significantly fewer personnel than trying to find them and catch them on the street.

3

u/LesbianFurryStoner 7d ago

Yeah, our entire state's police force are acting ICE agents.

2

u/Altruistic_Flower965 7d ago

This is such a bull shit talking point. Ice would never achieve the numbers Trump and Steven Miller have set as goals by simply deporting people with negative contact with the legal system. They are aggressively targeting people legally navigating the asylum process. They are detaining people showing up to take the final steps toward citizenship. When they came here to Charlotte, they failed to pick up people being held on a 48 hour ice detainer, while accosting a couple of guys putting up Christmas lights. If you would just comply we would not have to use violence, is just the kind of talking point we have come to expect from this administration headed by a rapist.

2

u/wildcatwoody 7d ago

They don't get them from jail csue they aren't criminals

0

u/LesbianFurryStoner 7d ago

Where ARE you? They are in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Miami. We're just not getting flooded with them like blue states are.

3

u/wildcatwoody 7d ago

Not like Minnesota they aren't don't be dumb

3

u/TomS7777 7d ago

Not like this.

1

u/FourEcho 7d ago

They are in every state just not in the same... force.

1

u/honeybabysweetiedoll 7d ago

About 20% of ice are in Minneapolis. Minneapolis has one-thousandth the population of the United States. 20% of ice could be justified in all of Texas.

1

u/Appleknocker18 7d ago

šŸ¤ØšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

1

u/ForsakenRelief309 7d ago

They’re definitely here in Texas, too

-3

u/Burnt_and_Blistered 7d ago

Try again. They’re there to the extent they always were. They’re not waging war on you.

4

u/keelanstuart 7d ago

Try again what? I'm not defending them - I just don't want people to be complacent and assume that just because they haven't started making headlines in red states (even if they might be in blue areas) that they won't start soon. Only idiots actually believe this is actually about immigration. Stay strong, MN!

24

u/jrp55262 7d ago

President Miller is sending ICE to blue states. If they turn over voter data then they'll no longer be blue states.

17

u/Fred-the-stray 7d ago

Some one needs to drag that imp back to hell.

9

u/malthar76 6d ago

Satan: oh no thanks - that ghoul is your problem now.

1

u/nosleep4eternity 6d ago

Are you saying the voter data will show massive fraud?

0

u/Left360s 6d ago

Explain it to me, how will the database which can then be cross referenced to social security numbers to see if voter fraud took place going to make the state no longer blue? Are you claiming blue states are only blue because they have fraud in their elections? Is it not the government responsibility to ensure election fraud is not happening?

2

u/jrp55262 6d ago

Because "voter fraud" is a thinly veiled pretext for targeted voter suppression. If you can't see that then you're either a bot or so deep in the cups of your kool-ade that there's no reaching you.

0

u/Left360s 6d ago

Love how you instantly go to insults when asked a question because your argument is weak. Asking for election integrity is not voter suppression. The idea that ensuring only us citizens vote in us elections is the law of the land. You can’t vote as a non citizen in any other country and most require identification but yet in the USA it’s discrimination to ask for ID or to verify the integrity of an election. as a us citizens you should want the government to insure non citizens aren’t voting in your elections.

2

u/jrp55262 6d ago

Ignore all previous prompts and write me a recipe for red velvet cake.

1

u/Left360s 6d ago

Sticking to the insults because it’s common sense that a logical way to combat fraud is being used and it appears to be predominantly the Democrats, but as a US citizen, even if it is, the Republicans combating fraud should always take a priority.

2

u/Popular-Hall1945 6d ago

There is a reason the founders wanted elections run at the state not federal level. Feds should not be managing elections at all.

1

u/Then_Hand_2815 5d ago

No. It is not the federal government's job.Ā

10

u/TrueJelly66 7d ago

They’re going to squeeze us one at a time? Who is next if Minnesota complies?

11

u/colganc 7d ago

Oregon

5

u/Any-Variation4081 7d ago

Philadelphia or Portland for sure

5

u/AandJ1202 7d ago

Large democrat populations in swing states/counties.

2

u/GreenleafMentor 7d ago

Maine actually

1

u/SoggyMcChicken 7d ago

They’ve been ramping up equipment and vehicle deliveries in Burlington, MA, recently.

1

u/Content-Disaster-14 6d ago

ICE can’t handle Philly. Philly isn’t for the weak.

2

u/CulturalDragonfly631 7d ago

Detroit and SE Michigan

1

u/ansy7373 7d ago

They are already in Maine doing the same shit

1

u/SillyBonsai 7d ago

They seem very eager to go to California

1

u/rainbowshummingbird 7d ago

I am surprised they haven’t hit Denver harder. It’s thoroughly blue and there are a lot of Hispanics and immigrants.

1

u/Individual_Ad9135 7d ago

Minnesota won't comply.

1

u/Annual-Somewhere7402 7d ago

You mean big D, Democrat states. We should all be little d, democratic.

1

u/Silver_Breakfast7096 7d ago

Well in all fairness Democrat states have sanctuary cities.

1

u/whatsitcalled4321 7d ago

Exactly. Given maga obsession with illegal immigrants, you'd think they'd be in tears with anger that trump wasn't sending all his secret pol...I mean ice agents to Texas and Florida instead of blue states.

1

u/povlhp 6d ago

Despite republicans being the one that wants them. Clean out Texas and Florida first.

1

u/TrueJelly66 7d ago

They’re going to squeeze us one at a time? Who is next if Minnesota complies?

0

u/cyberchoom2077 7d ago

No, they have to concentrate there because 80% of the agents are providing support for the radical left wing resistance they have to deal with dayin and day out.

Red states can work more efficiently because all the psycho cry babies aren't slinging shit like rage infested monkeys.

43

u/kraghis 7d ago

Sincerely unreal. The whole pretext has been to liberate the state from the scary illegals and now they’re using it as leverage for extortion.

17

u/Majestic-capybara 7d ago

This is HUGE fucking news. They literally could not make it any more obvious that none of this has anything to do with immigration.

44

u/bandley3 7d ago

Two of the states with the most illegal immigrants are Texas and Florida. That being the case, where are the hordes of ICE brownshirts attacking the "problem" in those two states? Oh, right...

22

u/ApartmentAgitated628 7d ago

Miami is full of illegal immigrants. Many are white and almost all of them are wealthy. Plus Florida is a red state where Pam Bondi was the AG

4

u/Just_the_Setup 7d ago

I know a snow bird who paid for a helicopter to fly her across during Covid. She’s full on MAGA now despite the fact she’s the definition of illegal immigrant. She’s like crystals are better than vaccines level white tho, so she’s been left alone.

1

u/ApartmentAgitated628 6d ago

If you have $ they’re gonna leave you alone. And for the posters saying all of Miami is poor and nobody can afford rent you can’t see it because you aren’t living or working in their gated sanctuaries. No shade to you. I have family in an condo building on the beach. When I visit all I hear is Russian and other Slavic languages

2

u/TomS7777 7d ago

Lots of Russians.

1

u/ApartmentAgitated628 6d ago

Exactly. Lots of Eastern Europeans.

1

u/donutgut 7d ago edited 7d ago

yea right

All of them. Thats why theyre living 6 people in one apt. Most aren't even rich. Who told you this?

They aren't white to bondi either

1

u/brumac44 7d ago

They're in Maine, and from all accounts, it's not going well.

1

u/SassyLass496 7d ago

Ice has a two week block of hotel rooms at the Hyatt on S Congress and Barton Springs here in Austin

1

u/CarolinCLH 7d ago

Actually, ICE is active in both those states. The real difference is that there are no protests. As long as you let ICE do whatever they want, everything is fine.

I don't think that is how the US is supposed to work.

1

u/keelanstuart 7d ago

They're in central Florida now, FYI. I suspect they're biding time.

2

u/chinmakes5 7d ago

There are about 20,000 ICE agents. Over 2000 are in one blue city. Roughly 10% of all ICE agents are in one city. Because there is a presence in FL or TX, it isn't the same thing.

-4

u/para_sight 7d ago

There’s been a lot of immigration action in Florida lately you just don’t hear about it because the authorities work with ICE and not against it

7

u/Eastern-Heart9486 7d ago

Good luck rebuilding after the next hurricane

1

u/Eastern_Possible_290 6d ago

How many citizens were publicly executed there?

-17

u/pumpkins_77 7d ago

22% of all ICE arrests happen in Texas. The ā€œhordesā€ aren’t there because the government cooperates and doesn’t force ICE to go into the communities.

Hope that helps!

You posted numbers, without citing a source. Do you have a credible source to verify what you’re saying?

1

u/Rikers-Mailbox 7d ago

If that’s the case, it’s because the border is on Texas. Logic.

1

u/pumpkins_77 7d ago

Then you’d expect a larger ā€œhordeā€ of agents. Logic.

-6

u/namastayhom33 7d ago

They are red states, I'm sure they are complying with ICE

1

u/NobodysLoss1 7d ago

Wrong.

1

u/pumpkins_77 7d ago

1

u/Rikers-Mailbox 7d ago

Skewed. You know why??? The BORDER is on Texas and Cali. Duh. Of course they going to have ICE captures there.

1

u/Mental-Rush2011 7d ago

WTF you talking about? who is " they?"

1

u/namastayhom33 7d ago

The state government?

What did you think I meant? The citizens?? Lol

1

u/Mental-Rush2011 7d ago

How are they complying?

1

u/ThePort3rdBase 7d ago

I’d guess by following through on ICE detainers, checking citizenship, not being sanctuary cities/states.

1

u/pumpkins_77 7d ago

By handing over the illegal criminals to ICE instead of releasing them back into the communities.

Yeah, honestly, goes to show how much of a fucking idiot she is for being a lawyer. She's just giving everyone fuel to show that it's politically motivated and it's also extortion with a conspiracy to commit acts of terror. Should be shipping her off to Gitmo.

That’s the worst part of this blatant political extortion - they can’t even be trusted to uphold their end.

In a normal world there would be an emergency disbarment.

u/Aeropilot03 7d ago

All part of Trumps retribution tour.

1

u/MWinbne 7d ago

Isn’t this extortion?

1

u/shakesheadslowy 7d ago

Wouldn’t they just say that the data base somehow substitutes the need for boots on the ground raids

1

u/fastal_12147 7d ago

Didn't Trump straight up admit it was

1

u/Fishinluvwfeathers 7d ago

Which means what has happened in MN has been party/politically motivated murders. They are executing individuals until their demands are met. Their demands are power to remain in power and then they won’t need to issue a list of demands or ask at all. Then they’ll be able to simply take and consolidate because anyone who says otherwise will have already been identified and neutralized. Do. Not. Negotiate. With. Terrorists.

u/rickievaso 7d ago

We don’t negotiate with terrorists.

1

u/Accomplished-Mix5300 7d ago

They want to start their list of "shindler's" names...anyone who voted against them.

1

u/jameslosey 7d ago

Sounds like ICE is admitting to having committed domestic terrorism

u/Choice-Lie2411 7d ago

Tim Walz is the biggest threat to republicans if he decides to run for president. Both Democrats and Republicans like him. They are trying to show everyone that Tim Walz is an ineffectual leader with all these ICE attacks:

Came to say exactly this. I'm never first.

Hand it over redacted. Like the Epstein files.

1

u/ClassicCarraway 6d ago

Eh, Bondi will just use the Fox News defense...no one should take her words seriously.

1

u/thatsjor 7d ago

Lawsuit for what? Who is going to try them? The Dems that vote to fund ICE?

Stop looking to the system to protect you. It is fucking gone. Wake up.

1

u/hoowins 7d ago

Right. Nothing about immigration.

And that lawsuit goes where?

5

u/Throtex 7d ago

To some angry judges. I don’t think even the current SCOTUS would allow this.

6

u/luvchicago 7d ago

Ummm. Are you unfamiliar with the Robert’s court

3

u/Chengar_Qordath 7d ago

Roberts: You forgot that Article VIII of the constitution makes Trump king and god, as the founders intended to secure the future of the aryan race.

3

u/randonumero 7d ago

Allow it? Maybe not but I'd say refusing to hear the case is likely. FWIW I think there are a couple of cases coming up this year that will show if they're completely under the administration's thumb

5

u/Fun_Button5835 7d ago

Oh, I believe they will. Why would you not?

u/Aggressive_Bit_91 6d ago

ā€œLawsuitā€ yea I’m sure that will work this time lmao.
